Hi Rob,
in my offseason and when i take time away from BB i switch over to boxing and fight on the unlicensed white collar scene so know the struggles with trying to do both. I have not long just swapped back to comp prep after dropping 16kg to fight.
What i would do is use an upper lower split for your twice a week weight sessions. this will ensure each muscle group is being targeted.
boxing/MMA you wouldn’t need to worry too much about arm workouts of shoulders for that matter so extra time can be spent on other areas. Such as more of a focus on back and legs would be better.
when i was in fight camp it was set up
AM sessions – explosive training or strength/weight sessions alternated each day
PM sessions – boxing (in your case MMA & boxing)
sparring mid week and weekend
sunday rest
leaving enough recovery between each session. everything is explosive and keeping functional mobility. It all depends what the true end goal is whether that’s transitioning over to BB or keep fighting as doing both for a period of time is ok but one needs to slide.

there are a couple of great videos in the education section which will help you a lot in programming the session – “how to set up push”
from JPs advice on there he states that doing the compound for chest/delt/tri before isolation work.
eg
1) compound chest
2) compound delt
3) compound tri
ect…
If your shoulders are a weakness I’d opt to start with shoulders and vice versa.

I used to take mine 10 mins before training and then sip on my intra during the session, never had any issues.

My good mate has been running this for the last 4 months and swears by it. Higher priced than some others though.
Was debating this myself or Helix.

If it doesn’t agree with you.. then don’t eat it. Try cream of rice/ground rice, whey iso, jam?
Where can I find ground rice in the U.K.? Seems only supp companies sell COR
Thanks for the replies guys
it is called Ground rice made by whitworths. (google it)
the only places I usually find it is in Asda or Morrisons. it is 95p for 500g.

Just got a message from thomas and i’m really annoyed. Its really hard to compete this autumn. Thomas wrote with the ifbb, with the korean promoter, with the embassy, but it seems that if you go to korea, you have to be in quarantaine for 2 weeks. Ok i thought we can handle that with an appartment, dumbells, cooking,…..
But now, they give you in special quarantaine buildings with nothing. Thats really shit. So if that show will happen it will be easy going for the koreans.I’m sad for thomas who does an incredible job!!! And i’m sure he will be able to present!!!
ah that’s rubbish! Especially as he is so close to competition! Hopefully the rules get relaxed again and they do away with the 14 day quarantine sooner rather than later so he can compete. What will be the plan going forward for him now?

So currently sitting at 14 weeks out now. Feeling in a good spot ready to really push on. Right now we are still not pushing on diet and cardio etc – feels like a weird spot to be holding off but only because we’re in a good position to do so because of the date changes etc… I’m ready to rock!
What’s the date they are circling around at the moment mate, 3rd Oct is 17 weeks?

Wow I’ll be honest with you guys in here, I never thought I’d be so stunned and deeply saddened by the passing of someone I couldn’t say was a close friend. I need to put these words together so I don’t speak with any ounce of disrespect in saying that.
Luke was someone I knew through bodybuilding, I spoke to him in person only a handful of times. I competed against him twice at the British finals in 2015 & 16. I had him in 15 but then the juggernaut really found himself, he was born to be a professional bodybuilder and firmly on his way to being one of the best.
He’s someone I could have banter with on social media and we slid into each other DM’s many times but he wasn’t a guy I could pick up the phone to for a general chat just to give a little context. So with that being said this has hit me hard, maybe because I’m a father and he leaves behind his kids, maybe because I put myself in others shoes in times like these and feel deeply sad to my core for the people closest to him. Maybe it’s because we all share a bond when we share the same passion especially when it’s so niche like bodybuilding. British bodybuilding is in a great spot but we have just witnessed a great fall which will be a hard pill for any force to swallow.
Yesterday immediately after the news of his passing I saw the negative side of social media, the simple fact that his family and loved ones don’t get there own private time to grieve and get lost in there own thoughts and upset. There is no privacy in the world we live in especially when you have status.
But on the other hand I witnessed the power of social media in all its glory when the many great tributes were and still are being played. Fouad and Bens go fund me page for Luke’s family shows the unity we all have in this sport and that’s a very special thing.
I guess we all feel the same, losing someone we knew, admired and laughed at so many times for being such a fun loving guy just doesn’t make any sense.
I pray that this will only make people stronger and stride farther forward in his absence. The stage won’t be the same without him and a great whole has been left in the industry and many peoples hearts.
Luke – we love you man – RIP brother ❤️????????
Beautiful words mate. I mirror your exact thoughts.
hope you and the family are keeping well

Solid days rest
Everything ticked off steps cardio and meals, I actually used my grill today to grill all mine and megs meat it tasted awesome.
One thing that made me a little angry today, all people sharing tributes about Luke on their instagrams yet couldn’t even donate 5£ to for his family… shameful narcissistic attitudes really riding of the back of a tragedy.
Not to mention the 20,000+ new followers he gained since.. Utter madness. Think I can speak for us all when I say it feels like we’ve lost a best friend/Brother from the impact he had on everyone.
Hope you are keeping well in the lockdown mate.
