I’m sure running wsm is very much a feet of engineering and as such I don’t have many criticisms at all. My only wish is that I could watch it the same way I watch all the other major and minor events because the TV production itself isn’t great compared a giants live stream or rouge etc
You know a lot of fans were tuning into the mertyl beach board walk cam to catch stick figures moving around. I cannot confirm or deny weather I did this haha
The 4 day event is too brutal for you guys. I love it but would understand if it got cut down to 2 days, which could make things more accessible for fans and perhaps improved performances and less injuries from the athletes.
I don’t really care who invests in WSM as long as it improves. And I agree, it’s still the top title and opens doors to other opportunities.
Anyway dude genuinely rooting for you as yor deadlift is a thing of beauty – bit weird, perhaps, hopefully other sad gym rats will understand 😂

Well done Adam. You’re putting yourself in a great spot for the deadlift champs such an intelligent calculated move to pull out at that point, something that only a seasoned/level headed pro would do – thinking about long term success!
Bit of a shake up this year even though Mitch won.
Did you hear any chatter about next year and renewing or changing the TV contract? Hoping Rouge buy WSM myself.

Hey Adam,
Congratulations on placing at wsm and looking forward to seeing you at world’s or rather, watching the spreadsheet and highlights – I hear the TV deal is up this year maybe they can stream next year.
You seemed a bit leaner at Brits than previous comps – was this the case?
Watching the Arnold right now.

Hi Adam,
When doing assistance I notice that you have periods of doing 2 sets and then doing the 5/3/1 prescribed 50-100 reps. What dictates this change in assistance reps and what are you trying to achieve with each? I assume the 5×10’s are nowhere near failure and pretty much just stay the same load throughout in contrast to the 2 sets to failure?
I ask because I’m starting to feel battered training to failure with everything and also I’m not really progressing my main lifts with this approach. I either need more recovery which means even less frequency (not something I’m willing/able to do) or I switch to more of a strength training protocol and start leaving reps in the tank (which I find hard to do).
I’m going to do 5/3/1 with all main lifts as I can happily build over a longer period for those but im not sure on the 5×10 assistance – this would be 15-20 rep max? Would doing 2 sets to failure on assistance be detrimental to longer term progression in mainlifts for you?
The conversation around strength and hypertrophy is an interesting one. While strength athletes tend to call 5×10 “bodybuilding” but I rarely see or hear or any boydbuilders training that way these days. I guess training to failure type of bodybuilding sessions are more of session to session peaking and maxing out in a higher rep range, in contrast to a strength trainee that is going to build to a peak 12 weeks down the line ramping the nervous system.
Was great to see you pull 470 last month, looking forward to seeing you compete in 2026!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration, Adam.
I can currently hit a double on a BB with 220kg. So depending on how the axel feels I’ll go a touch heavier but stick with the progressions you’ve suggested and will use the band.
I’m fine with all the pressing events can already press more than comp weight – MDB, Axel and Log. Yoke will be interesting though having only tried it once – Damm it’s taxing, felt like a zombie for a couple of days.
Honestly, It’s made my day just to have input from a top strongman/deadlifter.
When are you competing next?

Bar weight is 180kg I’d imagine total chain weight will add 40kg

Hi Adam, hope you’re well.
How would you peak for an Apollon wheel deadlift w/ chains. Reps in 60’s. 9” pull from block?
First comp in about 12 weeks. I’ve been doing paused snatch grip deadlifts for this acc phase, I don’t fancy doing them again, they’re disgusting. I find deadlifting extremely taxing and I’m getting old so recovery is a bit janky.
This is a rough layout of my pull day for the next phase. Weakness – all of it! Probably off the floor but since the event has chains I can’t say.
Axel Deadlift + band
12″ Axel Deadlift
RDL/SLDLAll accessories; top set/back off 5-10/12-20 (I like going as heavy as possible rather than RIR)
Lying ham Curl
Pulldown
SA Row
Bicep CurlI will be removing squats and just have some leg press on the second push day.
I was watching your deadlift peaking video – you said, you’d peak differently if it was for reps and so I thought I’d ask. Reading this back, I’m essentially asking you to program my pull session, which is probably a bit of a stretch but I appreciate any input at all.
Would you like to get a shot on the Elephant bar? Looking forward to seeing you compete again.
Thanks

Where are you pinning the petides, as close as possible?
You any good a chess? -
Great performance! I had you touching podium this year. With all the injuries you’ve had and still coming even stronger/faster – Impressive!
I’m hearing the platform was uneven (on sand) is this what led to injury?
Keep it up – can’t be a strongman without a strong mind – so don’t let the setbacks, set you back!
It’s probably to early to know but what’s the goal moving forward? Vegas out of reach for now?
Predictions – Tom, Mitch and Evan?
