Hey Jordan – you’ve recently done a lot of detailed posts on resistance profiles on certain movements and when to place them in your sessions etc. which has been really cool to read.
I wondered if you had ever tried this with your pulls? Attaching a band to each side of the barbell and thus making the movement hardest at the top (and if so in what situations did you like it/ would you use it?) Or if you’ve literally just stuck to straight weight?

Last year since 2021 March most of the time it was 250 test with some weeks of aromasin and some not – based on feel , I had two stints with additional primo at 700 ontop. I did 20 weeks I think of 250 test then re added the primo for 6 , then went back to the 250 test for a period then re added the primo again for 6 .
I stopped that second stint early feb when I started bjj and fully committed to no more drugs and then the last few months have been a process of transitioning my training to less and less bb and more just focusing on fitness and getting the weight off as it became apparent that even at low drugs if I keep bb training I will hold a very high body weight
I’m currently on 150 test , nothing else at all , I have no plan to re add anything or take anything else, as it would just counter the progress im making .
No doubt I will do a podcast that goes into how difficult the mental aspect of doing less training my way is

That sounds fine to me. Anything that replaces water and electrolytes first thing. I would also ideally ingest a small carb/pro meal that is fast digesting before going into an early training session. Something like a whey Isolate and banana, then an intra carb/EAA drink during.

Hey Jordan. Hope all is going well. I’ve tried to read back through the log to work out your exact progression in terms of reducing your bits use to the current 150 test only.
It is proving quite difficult as there was quite a lot of (understandable) chopping and changing at first.
Please may you outline the rough stages, with the below as just an example of what I mean.
– 250 Test plus Aromasin 12.5mg per week
– 250 plus 250 primo
– ….I am also so keen to hear your talk about it more once you are ready as you said. No pressure on that of course, just ensuring you know that everyone would love to hear and there’s no stigma in feeling some of the emotions I guess you may have felt during this ‘journey’

You could try, as Jordan would say, ‘touching’ the 47.5s and seeing how you get on, or you could change the rep ranges for the exercise and look to progress those, or if it has become really stale then swap it out but that would be the very last port of call

I needed to get through my session faster today to have the oomph left for cardio , so I will start alternating what piece I press on, incline prime or high incline smith. And then when I use the prime adjust then resistance profile , when on the smith go up and then down in reps – which works well on things with an even resistance profile

Please may you explain how going up then down on even resistance profile pieces is a good choice? I’ve never heard you say that before so would be very interested to hear the thought process behind that. Thank you!

I hope this is not viewed as me being negative, I’m just curious, but will your openness with your bits use over the years impact you at all in terms of eligibility to compete in certain bjj comps? Or will it be a case of in the moment you’re physiological so it is all ok? Thank you and really enjoying following this new goal and process! You also come across as so much happier haha, which is absolutely epic to see!
