I think 2 is a pretty good all round choice. Allows for a decent range of exercises covering each body part and won’t get bored of one cycle. However 3 is still a good option. No right or wrong way imo so long and you train hard, log and progress your lifts

That’s completely understandable buddy. We all do it but I do think if you’ve used something all prep and you’re shredded, then why remove it. If you’re not shredded and fully diced that’s when you can start thinking about what to keep and what to remove ????

Hi joe I saw you sometimes use flavour drops to flavour your baby rice is this something you would run up to the show along with a truvia sweetener or would you look to cut out a certain time before the show? I imagine the difference it would make would be minimal but just wondered what your thoughts were?
Hi mate nah bro I use them all the way up to the show and even on show day. Used them the whole way and got shredded so don’t see the point in removing them. 🙂

Rest300c

700 mast e
0.5 adex ed
40 Tamox ed
25 t3 immediately on wake (stop 5th Aug)

I trained legs with Jordan today and we actually adopted mikes training approach with our session leaving around 2/3 reps in the tank. This means less overall Newark fatigue and faster recovery between sets. Progress will be a touch slower HOWEVER it is suggested that progress will not stall in the fashion that training to absolute failure (every set) does. Usually with failure training we will eventually hit plateaues but when leaving reps in reserve (RIR) it will still allow for the adaptive response in muscle tissue for growth and of course strength but recovery will be much better and over time you will potentially progress further.
It was a very very good session and progressive over load is still always the main goals – but progressive overload with RIR.
Take home points from RIR – less neural fatigue , less feeling like you’ve been buried every session, more progression over time as you don’t burn our as fast. Deload every 4 weeks or so as you RIR get closer to failure.
Good training system, I like it 🙂

Structure, lines and condition is bang on the money just need more size.
Time to continue getting stronger and most importantly, EAT haha
Yes Isaac totally agree – it’s deffo not a bad problem to have. I will take my time to build the muscle properly and in the right places without rushing it and affecting my physique ????

I also used iron monkey – great brand. I have two pairs. Both are shattered glass which I think is brilliant – one in grey (for practice) and my comp ones were in red
I got the super pro cut because my glutes striate quite nicely so I want to show that offf. If you’re super lean and have striated glutes then get super pro cut, if not so much then either classic or normal pro cut would be fine. Didn’t bother with the scrunch, looks a bit funny imo
Hope that helps mate

MemberJuly 23, 2019 at 2:59 am in reply to: Joe’s Classic to Open Class BodybuilderGreat job mate – first time as a super heavy and placing fifth is a fantastic. Unfortunately conditioning can win smaller shows and is still important in the super heavy class, but mass is key as there’s no upper cut off. Bit more size whilst retaining that condition – can you imagine!?
Is that the competitive season wrapped up or are you eyeing up some other shows? Hope you’re enjoying a bit of downtime and congrats to the other half, what result!

Hey bud yeah fully agree – regional shows are fine but these big Amateur Olympias are another level. They’re the best amateur stages in the world and mass is absolutely key.
No point going again this year, will be same result at a pro qualifier. So waste of time money and effort that will now be spent putting on the muscle required.
Had a great couple of days with the mrs enjoying her new found pro status thank you mate 🙂

I quite like it tbh. It’s just mixing in lots of different techniques to increase volume. Will create lots of muscular damage. I’d probs only advice for more advanced lifters. Only thing for me is it may be quite hard to measure and progress but I do think it would work well.
Jamie and Darren seems to be enjoying it and seeing good gains – but guess what guys – they both train fucking hard and are meticulous with their diets which is absolutely key before you even think about your split

MemberJuly 22, 2019 at 12:26 am in reply to: Joe’s Classic to Open Class BodybuilderWhat’s up guys so for anyone that doesn’t yet know I placed 5th in Portugal. Although I initially wanted to do better, looking at my competition I’m very happy. And it’s shown how big the step into super heavy weight bodybuilding really is. I won’t be able to win these big shows on condition and posing alone – long and short of it is I need more muscle. Which is good in a way because structurally I have the shape, the lines and I know I can always hit crispy condition so it’s just a matter now of being really productive with off season and putting on some really decent muscle mass.
I’m feeling good after the weekend and held my own with the some VERY good and very big bodybuilders, including our very own Mark Joyce who narrowly missed out on the win, but looked mad.
The road ahead is very positive and after dipping my toes into the super heavies I’m ready to jump right in. Stay tuned guys cuz this is going to get fun 🙂

Dude, I’ve been dipping in and out of your log for a long old while now but you are looking insane. Completely different to your days with AD Designs and peeled is an understatement.Shame about missing the flight, however testament to you for not freaking out. Body’s under enough stress as it is, what’s the point in adding to it? Besides, get some quality time in the airport with Ashlee.
It was a while back, but really liked the day in life vid where you visited your old school. Such an interesting insight into your background and wish I had that kind of support/environment at that age. Had a shitey leisure centre gym, however was free and developed the foundations.
Rooting for you big man and just relax, you know you’ve done everything you can do. Regardless of the result, everyone’s proud of you bud.____________________________

Thank you man that’s such a nice comment so very much appreciated.
Yeah missing the flight was shit. Deffo not ideal having 12 hours stuck in an airport on peak week rations lol probs wouldn’t describe it as ‘quality’ time but time together none the less
Glad you liked the vid man. Sounds like we both started out training the same way in crappy old gyms but gotta give them some love I suppose hahaThanks again bud means a lot man
Credit where’s it due my man.
Yeah I’m sure quality time would’ve been better spent in the Portugal sunshine rather than an airport terminal.
Indeed, but literally had the crappy leisure centre equipment and no free weights. Remember joining my first real gym and doing the three powerlifts, absolute heaven. Sure, it was small and could get busy but it was a little family in there. That’s why I love Primitive now – everyone training to be their best whether that’s going for their pro card, stepping on stage for the first time or simply wanting to better themselves, everyone is super supportive of one another.
Watched the leg session vid with yourself, JP and Corinne the other day. Sensational stuff all round, especially that close to a show. That intensity is still less than most people’s perceived maximum exertion. Like yourself I find it very difficult to stop short of failure, that’s why I physically can’t do deload weeks very well. Prefer just to keep away – all or nothing.
Enjoy the final carb up bud – might be the last day you have as an amateur!!
