Blimey joe ur hardly dwarfed by him it’s impressive how much size u have put on. What would you say is the biggest factor in the additional size, insulin (not sure if u used previously) or food intake, you drug stack looks reasonably sensible as well.

Hey buddy thank you. Trust me he’s a mutant in real life bro!! Haha… honestly bro the biggest diff have been treating off season like prep and being meticulous with my meals and training and logging everything to ensure I PROGRESS. This is so so key. No aimless training with no purpose and dieting with no goals.

Yes I used insulin for the first time towards the end of off season not really long enough yet to notice huge gains to main thing would be consistency and just generally training like every session is my last ????

Hey! I have just watched your video on how you started in powerlifting first. Be great to hear more as I’ve just started powerlifting in March! Looking forward to hearing about your journey. I was in Sweden this year at the IPF worlds supporting and it was incredible!!

Hey Vicky that’s awesome!! Please ask me anything you’d like to know about my journey or anything in general and I’ll be happy to answer or help you as best I can 🙂

Boom good leg session earlier with JP and Corinne which will be on the site end of this week! My cardio has been cut now which is nice – but still aiming to keep steps up so I have a decent neat level.

Just wrapped up some posing and feeling good in my mandatories and my routine – can’t wait to get on stage now and show off my hard work.

Clen has been put up to 160mcg now and GH has been pulled. Time to dry the fuck out.

So then that’s it. Once again the work is done. I’m just about to have my final meal and then head to before before show day tomorrow

My carb load has consisted of 7 meals of
    100g baby rice
    40g jam
    140g cooked chicken

I had the same today as yesterday except toddy was half the sodium of yday.

Tomorrow will be just baby rice jam, peanut butter and then cookies pre stage. Excited to see the final product and get up there to do battle with some of the big boys.

I’ve come here to do a job and tomorrow I’m going to do my best to achieve my dream – thanks for all the support guys. Big love. Over and out ❤️

I tend to stick with single arm movements and really get the connection and squeeze (but still with intensity) just good form. The pump is always unreal but the connection is what you want here too – connection form and squeeze over load and shit form

What’s up guys had a great day today carb loading day number 1 – around 800g carbs or so and feel full as a house at the end Of the day.

Carb sources are baby rice and jam along with a portion of 40g protein from chicken each meal.

Has a very good push session and got a nice pump. Trained in a stringer for the first time in AGES! cuz it was so hot but was nice to see the pump in person lol

Met big Iain Valliere at the gym (men’s open pro) he’s looking huge – I’ll post a pic here

Other than that very good day. Tomorrow we register then chill and eat more. Will go and check in 1-2-1 with JP tomorrow too 🙂

100% – if you wanna be the best then you need to treat off season like prep and be just as meticulous. This way you will ensure muscular progression.

For the average joe non competitor maybe not so important but that doesn’t mean you don’t need structure a progressive programme. Having a coach means you never second guess yourself. No brainer imo

I actually quite like the smith version with the shortened range it means you can’t use momentum To get the weight up so yes load will be less but contraction will be spot on.

Hi joe with your diet is there any reason you use basmati rice over jasmine ? Is it just personal preference as seems a lot of people opt for jasmine . All the best for Portugal

Hey man i actually use a mixture of both buddy – in off season I will revert fully to jasmine Thai sticky rice as I’ve just got a rice maker and it’s amazing!! Haha

If your body composition is looking worse then yes it’s probably not a good thing. However if your looking to grow and your not gaining weight on those cals then your clearly not in a surplus.

Don’t always look to chase the scale and increase weight for the sake of it. Body composition is much more important in my opinion. Slow and steady wins the race

Hmmm I would say it depends on your split regarding rest for example if you did upper/lower/rest/upper/lower that doesn’t really give you enough recovery time from one leg session to the other. I would favour either…

While I don’t disagree that it’s a good idea to have different emphasis on each day I also don’t think you couldn’t have two quad/ham focused day either.

That’s actually what I’ve been doing currently for quite some time now.

    1. one full on leg session heavy/ low volume then another with higher volume/different rep variations (rest/pause or drop sets etc)
    2. Split the Focus between quads and hams each session – still train whole lower but one session would be mainly quad and the other mainly ham – both sessions including ab/adductor and calf work
