Got some good work in on my biceps too. And managed 1 set of abs 😂😂 cramping hell! lol
Feeling amazing now though. And shows decided for next year!
Going to be doing Sweden on 11th May and Ireland on 17th May for my pro qualifiers!

Exactly what Jp said – also use straps In your pull sessions that will probs help you with back engagement as opposed to bicep from time to time.

MemberDecember 17, 2024 at 11:19 pm in reply to: Joe Ballinger – IFBB Open ProVery very good chest day, managed to hit 4 plates smith press for 8 on the cybex smith. 4.5 plates for 10 on the nautilus decline and 6 plates 4th ex on the Atlantis incline for 10. Some good numbers there and not loads of shoulder pain so the bpc protocol is deffo working. 300mcg a day plus 8iu of gh.
Staying uninjured is literally one of my biggest goals right now as it’s something that could throw off the whole prep for next year. That being said, everything I’m doing is full send. It’s a fine line. But we’re walking it.

Deffo been very chilled and laid back, just wanted to be present and enjoy myself. I tried to make sure I ate as much as possible as usually I’d lose weight on weekends like this, but I came back and weight a touch more so that’s bloody awesome!! Very happy with that.
Off to sleep now need a good catchup night guys x

Trained delts and arms with Darren who came up with me. Shoulders been better with the peptides in. Still painful, but not as much, and I can deffo now do more work! So moving in the right direction.
We’re up for the weekend for some Christmas shenanigans, winter wonderland and all that jazz tomorrow and a non bodybuilding day. Looking forward to it. Just not all the steps 😂

Always hard to give proper feedback without seeing you actually do it
Everyone says they progressively overload their sets and think they train hard and to legit failure. Had it many times with clients. Then mask for training clips and they’re just so far off. (Not saying you are)… but along with the execution thing, obv that’s important, but then again imo intensity is the actual big player when it comes to actually adding muscle
You can being doing everything perfect and still not grow because intensity isn’t there … at least to the degree I would say is legit
Also ‘feel’ isn’t always the best thing to go off, if you’re doing the movement. Something is moving that weight and unless you’re a complete beginner you’d have a pretty good guess it’s the target muscle
To conclude, just get stronger and keep learning to take sets to legit failure

Little easier to get to and quite like going there when it’s just arms. Little change of environment. Can smash a good arm workout anywhere tbh if you know what you’re doing.
Had a good day. Launched a new programme at work for coaching. Went on a nice dog walk. And had a cooked roast dinner from Nancy to replace one meal. Basically was the same meal chicken and potato lol just a lot nice haha

Yeah don’t worry about the food sources TOO much. So long as you’re eating mostly whole foods somethings like a bit of cereal is no issue at all. Make sure it all digests well and you’ll be fine. Monitor weight gain, when it stalls, take food up again.

Chest this week was the least amount of pain I’ve had in so long. It’s plagued me for so long, but this week I felt like it didn’t to the point of really effecting my session so that was a massive win! We’ll see how it is towards the end of the week when I hit delts and get some shoulder pressing going!

I mean yeah if you’re getting stronger, body weight is going up and you’re remaining in an appropriate body composition then I’d say you’re probs growing. Just imagine what you could do if you manage to sort the sleep. I really hope you do man.

Assume from what you’ve said you’re in a diet phase. Sounds for sure like you need to step off the gas a touch. Potentially some form of refeed. Get recovered and back to progressing again.
