When I got very strong on DBs it was almost unsafe for me to take them from my knees, kick them back into position and then to press – that is also a hug use of energy that will take away from the set.

If that is the only issue and your actual strength is good and progressing (once In position) then I’d keep it in, (assuming form is all good) and I’d get help with people passing me the DBs.

This is may not be possible and if you can’t have it every week then don’t do it. But that’s what I did … and got strong af 🤣

Day 2 on Milos style training.

    Smashed.

Lol. Obv way more volume than I’m used to but it’s the way you lift the weight that makes the diff for example holding a movement for 4 seconds in the contraction or in the stretch really does set your muscles on fire.

There are some lower volume sets too within the set up. But mainly we’re looking 15-20 rep range

As I’ve said. This is large to help me get around some niggling injuries that I can’t shake.

Today was pull and already my back is in bits, lats especially. Legs tomo, will report back 😅

    Hey man hope you’re well

Firstly, love the passion. When you’re genuinely passionate about something – you will usually make good progress in your field.

Ok so it’s a tough question as it’s a BIG one re your future so take with a pinch of salt if you may…

    Here’s my 2 cents…

I’ve been to uni and have a degree in strength and conditioning. Does it directly help me with my current job? I would say yes, from a knowledge perspective but also because uni also taught me how to study and read properly, how to take in information and also how to be critical – ie, not to just believe everything I read. I question things and give opposite thoughts, a devils advocate you could say. Objective thinking…

Did I need my degree to do what I do today. Absolutely not. I did not NEED it at all.

Before coaching fully online I was an in person PT – so technically the only qualifications I’ve ever NEEDED for my line of work were level 2 and 3 personal training quals so I could get insured.

To be an online coach you don’t need any qualifications at all (I think this needs to be regulated but that’s a whole other conversation)…

If you’re passionate about helping people and happy to self study and learning on your own accord then you can indeed self teach (paid courses/seminars/mentors, free content, YouTube, following industry professionals etc) and you could start that now… (you could also do this alongside uni if you choose that path)

If you are passionate about wanting a degree and further depth into a certain areas then you could go to uni. I don’t think you NEED it. It’s more about what you want.

Uni certainly helped me develop as a person and a Critical thinker. And I’m deffo glad I did it.

So, I don’t really want to give a solid answer to your question of what I think you should do as it’s not my place. But, you can take my experience and thoughts and form your own from that.

    Hope that helps 🙂

So I had my first session today on the new training plan – Milo’s style

Looking to try this new style mainly as I’m carrying a few knocks and niggles and finding it hard to push as much as I can with the lower volume approach I’ve been on

My strength is high but by body won’t let me get there which is frustrating and making me not enjoy my sessions – pisses me off

So started a new 6 day plan focussing on bringing up mainly my chest and back and the volume is, erm, high hahaha

Never done that much before. Did chest tbus am I have a feeling I’ll be in pain tomo (doms)

As expected as volume was so high, weight wasn’t as high, and alas … no pain. Maybe we’re off to a good start. We’ll see…

I get that sort of pain in off season when I get strong on my pressing movements. If it gets really bad then I do pull off the heavy movements for a while and it usually gets better. Keeping ontop of my joint health supps and omegas usually helps too so deffo
Make sure they’re in. I’m sure you’re on that though.

Been fully run down the last couple of days. So annoying like it doesn’t feel bad enough to completely put me out but don’t feel well enough to train – like I could but i know I need to recover and get better first or I’ll just make myself worse. Off to see the boys tomo so wanna be better for that!

I’m going to try the whole Shabang. I’ve got a fair few niggling injuries that aren’t going away. I’m strong and it’s difficult to not go heavy when following my normal approach. Interested to see how a new stimulus will effect my physique. Of course I’ll post it all here for you guys 🙂

Bro my skin is SO sensitive! I couldn’t use veet either but then I saw they have a sensitive spray. It’s amazing. I use two bottles to do my body.

So I start with lower, cover all areas – takes like 2 mins Cus the spray is so easy to use. Leave this on for 5-7 mins, then use a scouring pad or shower mitt whilst in the shower to rub it off. (Don’t use the scraper they provider they’re shit lol)

Get out shower and dry off then repeat for upper body. Make sure you use some tissue to wipe it off your nipples if they will burn – found out the hard way. Also inner bicep is thinner/more sensitive so maybe done do there.

I usually then get my partner to use my beard trimmer to quickly do my back 🙂

Had an Epsom salts bath today to help with my muscle recovery… I haven’t had a bath in so long and I gotta say it’s deffo helped. I’ll probs do this a little more now moving forward. Also in for some soft tissue tomorrow morning too which I’m looking forward to. I got out of habit with this for a bit and defo have some built up knots in my quads which need some work.

Recovery is king and it’s something I’m going to be improving again from now on 🙂

I swear by epsom salts in a bath daily. I usually have 4 or so a week, especially after legs and back anyway! For some reason for me it really helps recovery!

FairPlay bro! Ngl I’ve just not done them because running a bath is just quite long… BUT I actually enjoyed switching off and just laying there whilst of course getting the benefits of the salts in the bath for recovery.

Anything else you do to aid recovery?

Yeah you can’t really do both, choose the one you prefer the feels best and you can run up decent load with no issues. As Oscar said I’d pop it in on pull day.

Deffo get some decent lat work in first or exercises that are harder to get short then move onto these imo

I’ll talk about it here as it’s quieter than ig. I friend of mine left a suicide note Wednesday. Me my bro and a mate had to track him down and stop him from doing anything. It was a horrible experience but something that has once again highlighted the importance of mental health to me.

Sometimes the people you least expect could be in a position similar. Just always be fucking nice, smile, speak to your mates, ask questions, be present. Too many young people are losing their lives when they shouldn’t.

I know this was a serious, not so happy blog post but hopefully it can help spread awareness and just our human ability to be there for one another ❤️

Hope you are good bud. I know as a friend for someone going through those situations, it’s not easy for those around afterwards

    take care ❤️[/quote]
Thank you man means alot dude. I’m all good thanks for asking, I hope you’re well too 🙏
