Been testing abit now and found me dose to be about 11carbs per unit before my bgm reports me being hypo.

Can’t yet say that I have felt any hypo symptoms either even though I was down to 3.1.

Also can’t really say I’ve felt these “crazy pumps” (just normal pumps) that some people talk about when doing pre workout insulin. Is 100-150 pre+intra carbs with 9-14iu to little to feel this?

So just got humalog and a bgm, in what intervalls after pinning+eating would you advice checking bg? Every 20mins?every 30 mins?

Also do you check this at home to find your set insulin:carb ratio at first then do it whilst working out?

    Thanks!

You really should have some one guiding you through this bud as it needs to be tailored to yourself which is impossible to do properly on the forum like this.

However as an example if you are doing this on high days like JH does.

    check BG pre meal 1

Add 5iu to meal 1 – check BG 60 minutes post meal 1 and 120 minutes and 180 minutes. – the numbers should come back down nicely to were it roughly was pre meal 2 but not keep falling. If it does then you need to look at the macros and balance of that meal.

then your next 1-2 doses would depend how your day looks in terms of training timings etc
Soo then i’ve found out said ratio to be x:y, could this said ratio then be used but split up in say pre+intra carb + pre insulin? Eg, 100c + 10iu works and and then 100c pre, 50c intra + 15iu?

Or do i have to find out by going 100c + 10iu works so lets do 100c pre+50c intra + 10iu, then 11iu, then 12 iu until i find what brings me a few points above hypo?

I think the pros will answer “try it to find out” and “works for some and not for others, gotta try” 🙂

Thanks guys! Also been thinking of doing a ppl r ul r, this then means more sets could be fit in the PP workouts also since 1 more day is added as recovery?

How about doing U/L/extra with bic, tric, calvs and abs on the extra day and removing them from the other days, would be a less stressfull workout so might be able to do that without restdays? Although as you said this would make biceps on legs not possible?

I like justin harris approach and I find it works well for a super compensation effect on high days. Personally my own issue with it is when I use Humalog like that I feel super tired.

so I personally prefer lantus with meal 1 and then fast slin around training.

As you say its not a need your just looking at it to help push nutrient uptake and glycogen storage so additional levels. You’ll only know if its worth it when you try it 🙂

    Thank you!

Would you say 5iu is a good “safe” start does for pre workout if there is about 100g carbs pre, 30intra and 100post ?

Yes bud I would adjust the carbs and have 50 intra initially until you asses response of the set up
Great, thanks!

My question is why do you need insulin ?

Adding insulin isn’t going to magically let you store more glycogen man

Now in Prep if your already super sensitive you may go hypo

    Anabolic effect in offseason!

Need is a strong word, I dont “need” insulin but I do want to try it for mass!
