    Thanks @kuba1000@hotmail.co.uk

Are there specific exercises that come to mind you would definitely NOT do them with?

if i was in the offseason, i would choose to either:

-add an intensity technique onto one or two sets per workout and assess fatigue and recovery

    or

-add one straight set to a compound for a similar rep range to the top set and again, assess fatigue and recovery.

youre not going to notice a difference if you added ONE straight set to say a bicep curl for example honestly, and will get more “bang for your buck” adding another set of heavy rows or something like that if youre recovering well

I agree with JP – you mention “focus is more on chest arms back and hams” but in your split design, you really only addressed any of this by tacking on an arm day at the end, and barely giving arms anything at the beginning. Why not try:

Push (Chest focused), Pull (Biceps and back-width focused), Legs (Equal quad/ham focused), Rest, Push (Triceps and Chest Focused), Pull (Back-thickness focused), Legs (Hamstring focused), Rest

*when i say “focused” i mean adding additional volume to and starting with THAT muscle group you want to bring up. that split focuses on the muscles you specified

Everyone in Tampa top 5 today looked great…but… I can’t help but think your NYPro and Cali looks would have DUSTED this show. Even though the lineups this year are decent, I feel the quality has dipped off. I hope you show them what a true bodybuilder is in 2023 Sas (if that’s what you want to do/decide to do of course!)

Hey bud thanks for your compliment and support as always : ) appreciate it a lot

As for mine and Johns training similarities, for the most part all my training is a results of my own personal experience, trial and error, as well as of course picking things up from others and their methods too.

John is/was an absolutely amazing mind and lifter, what ever came out of him mouth pretty much always made sense and always spot on so I’ve no doubt I’ve taken his advice on board

But generally what I do today is from 23 years if practice and learning for myself. I hit hams and adductors at the start of leg days because my hams were lagging 8 years ago and I wanted to prioritise them learning it just felt better overall for leg training, Chest days I do machines before smith sometimes just to mix things up, but I actually prefer to start chest training with a flat smith or barbell press.
And I alternate calves and abs because I like high frequency for calves mine always responded better to this, even doing them daily worked very well for me

Hope this answers you buddy : )

What I got from this is “Success leaves clues”

John was super successful in developing his and others’ physiques. Sas is super successful in developing his and other’s physiques. They have a similar style and approach to some training nuances. It’s clear that for the most part we have found the formula on how to build muscle – follow the blueprints and don’t reinvent the wheel!

I like that approach! Listen to your body and go by instinct, feel, and experience. I think it takes a lot of time and experience to know when to push it and when not to push it. I’m still working my way up there

400mg is not his TRT dose. He is on a low dose cycle. And his genetics, food intake, training, recovery etc. are allowing him to make progress on that dose. Proof is in the results. Look at him on IG. Sas is a freak LOL

Absolutely killing it Sas!! Loving your training log!! I’m also still training twice a day, as always.

Q for you – for your double sessions, I’m curious how your sets look in terms of true failure sets. As time goes on I find myself adding more and more volume out of habit, and therefore hard failure sets because if I’m not within 1 set to failure it doesn’t count for me. Are you taking every set all the way? And also – are you failing more often due to the shorter rest? Thanks!

I am super excited to follow your transition to double-split training sessions!!! Maybe i will learn some tips for myself! I train this way almost every day, but dont mention it much on here since most people are religious about a lower volume PPL routine lol. it fits my lifestyle since i work for a software company and sit/rest at my desk all day, and i LOVE training.

I often do a similar split to you, where it is

1- Chest, Abs / Delts, Traps

    2 – Back / Arms

    3 – Quads / Hams, Calves

or I will follow a push pull legs setup:

    1 – Chest, Abs / Front+Side Delts, Triceps

2 – Back / Traps, Rear Delts, Biceps

    3 – Quads / Hams, Calves

MAN that is a LOT of food! I dont think theres anyway i could eat all that especially on a rest day. ive never had a big appetite lol but damn. the breakfast and the burger would put me down for 80% of the day.

Reminds me of those old juan morel 20k eating videos. that man can EAT. bottomless pit

I guess part of being a good bodybuilder is just being able to eat a ton of food right?
