The concentric is BY far the most important aspect of the movement, BY FAR , this is where the absolute majority of adaptations come from . The hyper locks the leg as it forces it to be locked , this trains the back leg way more

    Thank you!!
I’ve been doing slow eccentric sldl for years, I think I’ll switch them out as an hams exercise with hypers and then just do fast eccentric sldl for a lower back exercise and see how it goes

It’s a contested topic , imo , not a ton, just additional recovery demands that aren’t worth what your trying to get from the lift . The stiff leg is the ultimate erector movement , you get obv some back leg stuff going on , but I think trying to use it as a back leg movement is just meh Vs hip thrust / leg curl / hyper , which then are so accurate in comparison . So on the stiff leg , I see very little benefit that the eccentric brings , as it’s not even like you need it for safety or standardisation which is what an eccentric brings in a lot of movements

Hypers and slow eccentric sldl both work the hamstrings in the eccentric, why should the hypers be prioritized over slow sldl ? Thanks Jordan!

Very good push session , im toggling this work a fair bit , as allows me the focus on both upper stuff when it’s split into PLP and then lower then it’s U/L , it’s been constant toggling for a long time now

    Granite chest x 5 x 6

    Prime shoulder x 5 x 6

    Granite tricep x 5 x 7

    Dip machine x 7 x 4

    Banded push down x 11 x 5 x 10

    Pec dec x 5 x 5 x 6

    Lateral x 7 x 5 x 4 x 5 x 4

    Bicep x 5 x 7

    Ab x 5 x 5 x 7

Hi Jordan I searched the log maybe I missed it but : what is the reason you’re doing banded push down and not a cable pushdown ? (I know it’s individualized to you, just curious about your exercise selection)
    Thanks!

When did you last deload or a devolume? How deep are you in the cut?

I would try devolume every 6-8 weeks as this will allow you to keep progressing even at the back end of a cut.

I wouldn’t introduce new exercises at the moment

In recent years I opt for a 3-7 days off instead of a dedicated deload week. I took 4 days off 6 weeks ago last time

I’d aim to get all the bfat off atleast around the waist before pushing cals back up slowly.

Yeah I’ll take care of that fat around the waist

I always think its best to get as lean as you can before strength starts to drop and food focus isn’t to high.

Once you really see performance dip or/and your food focus is becoming very high then its time to call it a day but until then keep getting as lean as you can

Thanks! My food focus is at like 6.5-7 out of 10, and performance in the gym is maintaining at the moment
