    I’ve spent about £60 a session so around £1200.

I went to one tattoo place and had 5 sessions which hardly seemed to do anything so I went to another one to have the rest done who were really good but just beware as a lot of places will try to swindle you by putting the laser on a low setting as it’s more money for them. The place I went after remove quite a fair amount after 5 or so sessions and I probably could have got it covered then so I’d say do 5 and assess your situation. originally I went with idea of getting the whole thing removed. But with the money it costs and the 8-10 weeks you have to have in between sessions it can become a bit of a tedious process so if you want it totally removed be ready for the long haul. Hope this helps 🙂

I’ve had around 20 sessions with a Q switch laser on my leg tattoo which was black and grey. Lighter parts of the tattoo have almost completely gone however the larger, darker parts have scarred and look similar to a large bruise.

My advice would be to use a q switch laser for as long as possible as it’s much cheaper. Then once it gets to the point where it plateaus go to somebody with a Ruby laser. Personally though I think it’s better to get the tattoo covered after you’ve removed a decent amount as the scarring can leave your skin very dry all the time and looking a bit of a mess.
