It just means getting in and out of a deficit fast and being aggressive with the calorie / expenditure instead of a longer duration more slow and steady approach
It doesn’t work for everyone. For me personally cutting calories quicker doesn’t mean I get leaner quicker, it takes me time.

Make sure to shower as soon as possible after training. Do not stay in a shirt you have sweat in. Use an acne wash in the shower, and moisturize after. Do an elimination within your diet of any trigger foods such as peanut butter and artificial sweeteners etc

I personally just go off of feel and also the timing of my competition season
If you’re feeling numerous effects like joint stress, high levels of fatigue, sleep disturbance, lack of progression in the gym then that’s a clear sign of probably needing a deload and then better managing your recovery from there
