    Today’s session bombed and an executive order was made to devolume right after the first set of cybex press . The warm ups felt very heavy & I knew deep down it was time .
    I’ve had another good run on this block and it’s time I give back to the body in terms of rest to restore what the body has given me to date .

    I always have the 3 strike rule where I’ll attempt it 3 times and after that then I’ll swap
    It if it doesn’t give because as clare mentions it could be anything the first time , lack of quality sleep , dehydration, stress , lack of proper warm up and preparation, poor set up and all that .

    REST DAY
    Lie in this morning… then a few chores around the apartment, some admin too .
    Had a sauna session so feel very relaxed after that , and I am almost ready for bed looking forward to a big week ahead. 🙂

    I am very much with max here, we must not neglect intellect or the scientific research as that would be arrogant on our side.

    But there’s some things only instinct can find. But we always ignore it and go looking for the shiny ball which max refers to as status quo.

    A wise man once said, Intellect will always describe it , but sometimes only instinct can find it.

    Check in day ..we (jordan) are happy ..we need a bit more fullness as there’s still scope to push . So push we shall . I’ll await instructions on adjustments.
    A quiet ham/glute session. The work was done ✅ because work is all we have at this point.
    Tomorrow we rest , and I am very much looking forward to it .

    Don’t fix what’s not broken . If you are progressing by 2kg with standardised form every session then crack on . Don’t feel the pressure to push things faster as they tend to catch up with you at some point .

    Remember it’s creating novel stimulus that is our goal in the gym. So as much as it’s only 2kg , it’s 2kg that you did not do in your last session. And that in itself is what progressive overload is .

    So head down, stay patient and keep working .
    Remember incremental progress will compound over time … so 2 kg over a month of you are squatting once a week is 8kg over a month . That’s big . 🙂

    if you feel you don’t want to socialise that’s ok too.

    I sometimes call that protecting your space.
    So long as you aren’t rude , bad mannered or harming anyone else it’s all good drew.

    Tough session today .. maybe cause it’s end week but it seemed harder than normal everything considered.
    But it got done, work progressed & as cooked as I feel , I am content that I have done was made to do. 🙂

    I’d start my increasing tricep volume in push session…2 sets compounds , 4 sets of isolation work with high rep ranges included too
    I’d tag 3 sets of biceps after pull session & start leg day with 3 sets of biceps ..
    If the arms don’t respond, then an arm day would be in consideration.. 🙂

    Not much work today . Well 3 hours this morning.
    A bit of admin after .. and it’s been a chilled day :
    Cooking done for the weekend too and it’s an early bed as we are busy tomorrow and we also got quads which will be very demanding.. but we are here for it 🙂

    The push session I did yesterday was so good that I felt a bit fatigued going into todays session.
    But it turned out very productive as I took wind across the whole session. Pump was ridiculous with it too .
    Absolutely battered and cannot wait for rest day tomorrow. I only have 2-3 hours work , so I’ll try sleep as much as I can through the day .

    Hello John , as Claire mentions above , building anything that’s worth it takes time . Patience in building a physique is not a virtue anymore, but mandatory.
    This is assuming you have execution and intensity on lock . Out of curiosity, can you please send me videos of your compounds on the next leg day please. ?
    Then next thing to look at is recovery, diet , stress management & supplementation .
