    Is there really a best split for bulking or is it a case of constantly staying in a surplus, managing your recovery to the best of your ability & training as hard as possible, each time making progress on the gym floor?
    Same as when you dieting you stay in a deficit, manage your recovery to the best of your ability & make sure you are training hard & making progress on the gym floor.
    That being said your split will be dictated by your physique needs or goals.

    My training is so demanding recovery wise, I don’t think I could afford doing anything else… it that I want to anyway…lol prior to bodybuilding I’d tried different sports and I was sooo bad it was embarrassing.. so I’d rather just stay in my lane bodybuilding and my other hobbies do not involve anything physical…??
    But if you enjoy boxing go for it buddy.. nothing better than doing stuff you enjoy, the return is always well worth it . 🙂

    Hey guys , a bit off today . So everything has been a blur . Can’t put my finger on what it is but tomorrow is another day . I hope it’s nothing like getting ill because I’m only just back to 100%. Will monitor abs see what tomorrow brings

    So in a de-volume situation this is how your leg session would look

    Adductor – 1 set 8-12 reps

    Safety Bar Squats – 1 set

    Leg Press – 1 set

    Leg Curls – 1 set

    Leg Extension – 2 sets

    If you want a complete deload/rest then 5 days will be ample to drop fatigue & re fresh again. Personally a full rest works better for me, mostly in an off season setting as it’s about not only dropping physical fatigue but mental fatigue as well and regaining sharpness. Giving joints a rest , getting some treatments in during that period too.
    If in prep then like last year we trained in blocks of 4 weeks then a weeks de volume , so that way we just managed fatigue so I didn’t get to a point where I had dug myself that deep I needed a full rest.
    So all this is person dependent, there’s no wrong or right…. just what works best for you and what will give you the best possible outcome .

    Another productive day. Sorted out a load of books I’ve had but not read and made a timetable to start going through them one by one .
    Listened to the fouad abiad podcast with Matt Jensen and that was some good listening.
    A bit of Netflix to finish the day and an early night for the boy 🙂

    Robin makes a great point in terms of prioritising what body part is lagging…. if you are quite balanced then maybe once again as robin mentions alternate on both rotations. If not sure you can post some front & rear pics on here and we will be happy to help. 🙂

    Hey hari, this machine seems ok to me and it seems to move in the same path that most hack squats do.
    Remember most of the time, these are just tools… it’s how you use them that really matters.
    So execution, intensity & effort all co existing together in tandem is what you should worry about . 🙂

    You need to go see a therapist for some treatment mate. Might be lower back, might be S.I joint… but either way this needs looking at if it’s causing you discomfort and holding your performance on the gym floor back .

    It depends what your goal is, what your volume is ?
    Majority of us train on low volume and high frequency so it demands we take sets to failure.
    I personally think training to failure is necessary to make progress . Training past failure on the other hand isn’t necessary or you have to be very careful when to do it as recovery demands are higher taking sets past failure.
    If you switch from RIR to failure it’ll take time as you’ll need to build that mental fortitude to be able to take sets there … safely
