So many questions to ask here on intensity, on volume & whether you are burying yourself each session & if so are you recovering ? But your training age and experience might say different…& you might be actually making a lot of progress and gains…but more information is needed .

There is no wrong or right here as mentioned. But what joe said about JP is true . Sometimes he’ll go low 2-3 reps. But then again objective there is to touch the weight , know how it feels, go away prepare for it mentally and come back next time & rinse it.
IMO i prefer between 5-9 reps, I’ve occasionally fell under that and hit 4 reps..but I’ll ensure not to add load until I can build that up to between 6-9.
Clare mentioned joint care , which i agree is important to take into consideration my man . Also the ability to recover and go again as those low rep ranges will fry CNS to the max.
I mean if things are working for you , why fix something that isn’t broken? You and Jordan have very different circumstances?

Progressing for now is coming easy mate, it’s keeping that going when things get tough I’m worrying about haha!
I’ve had no joint problems so far (touch wood) and have planned a 14-21 day deload phase after next week (which marks 13 weeks of training like this)
In terms of fixing what isn’t broken, realistically I’m happy with what’s happened so far – but with someone with the mass of jordan, it’s hard not to look at him and just want to do exactly what he does, as pathetic as that may sounds to some[/quote]
A wise man once said, 90% of our problems as humans have not happened yet. Yet they consume our thoughts most of the time.
Progress in training isn’t linear. So no matter how far ahead you plan, you’ll run into Walls & plateaus.
My advice is focus on now, focus on the moment! as good as it is make it even better.
Whenever you hit a plateau then react then . Come and ask the question on the forum . Then together we will figure out a way. 🙂

I do that too even on the pendulum! the foam roller is a que to brace & push my hips back into the pad at the bottom of a squat, making it advantageous. I’ve used it both in Atlantis & Watson hack

Hey Oscar. Follow you on insta and love your content. Your execution of every exercise is perfect, what u would like to know is more about it diet. What your eating and when? Do you cycle carbs. I currently have carbs in and around training and later I the day don’t want to spike my insulin early in the day. any insight into what you do would be appreciated! Thanks

Hello John, Thank you. I feel that question (s) is person dependent and it also depends on goals. Currently I’m off season & this is my diet :
    ???? TRAINING DAY DIET
    MEAL 1: 75c/60p/15f
    MEAL 2: 100c/60p/10f
    PRE WORKOUT: 100c/60p
    INTRA : 2 sustain 3 Mps max
    PWO: 150c / 60p
    POST POST: 150c /60p
    PRE BED: 60p/30f
    ????REST DAY DIET
    6 meals of 60p/10f/60c
When I was dieting yes my breakfast was pro/fat & my carbs were only in pre workout meal,INTRA, post workout & post post ..
So it depends on what phase you are at

    Hi Oscar
Thanks for such a detailed reply!
I have two push sessions a week, one is more chest dominant and one is more delt dominant.
I follow a similar approach on the set approach.
I’ve never done rotations though, I think that could be a good idea for me.
Weighted press-ups are something I will 100% include
    Hi Michael-
Thank you, I’ve always wanted to use one of those machines but don’t have one! Seen them over in the states a fair bit
    Scott-
Thank you! Glad to hear you’re liking them. Do you also do the same rep approach?

Hello Andrew , great stuff! Please feel free to check my instagram for videos of the weighted close grip tricep press ups. 🙂 young_4040

How is your training split set up.
My push sessions are split into 2, I have a chest focused push & a delt & tris focused push.
In both I have 2 rotations each:
    So for instance on
Push 1 (chest focused ) : heavy dips
Push 2 (chest focused): dead stop smith machine close grip press
Push 1 ( delt & tri focus) : heavy weighted press ups
Push 2 (delt & tri focus) : dumbell close grip floor press
All these are just main big moves , I still got accessorie movements like dual rope cable extensions, single arm cross body dumbell extensions, seated overhead dumbell extensions, diesel rope cable extensions.
So you can just easily rotate these movements if your plan can accommodate them.
Get as strong as possible in the 5-9 rep range & the 10-15 rep range on the big movements and on the smaller secondary movements look to get stronger on the 15-20 rep range.
And pssst don’t forget to do your loaded stretches after. They go a long way 😉

Well first I’d look at your execution of the actual shrugs. If you think they are boring chances are you aren’t doing them optimally .
Second I’d look at variations of pulling from the floor I.e rack lifts, deads, RDL’s & movements like chest supported t-bar rows , chest supported machine rows.

First things first,More is not more, in most cases less is more as James does mention above relating to your frequency.
With that sort of frequency, you don’t be recovering optimally, and as a result your performance would eventually either stagnate or take a nose dive altogether.
I like the idea of a decline BB press as James suggests above.

EMG studies show most decline variations of a press as not just more effective in stimulating chest fibres as a whole, but when compared to the recruitment of upper portions of the pec in an incline press, it matches it. so for an overall greater chest thickness, decline presses are not to be ignored.

That being said there is still the question of how you sequence your movements, choice of movements, rotation of the movements & ultimately how you execute the movements.

Clares beat me to it , but my advice is the same, go get it looked at by a professional. Instead of rushing to rotate the movements just try get to the bottom of the cause and then get it nipped in the bud by a professional.
On the surface it sounds like it’s all coming from the hip .
