Rest day spent fishing. Caught a couple of nice carp and managed to nail a hook all the way through my thumb (though the nail as well).
Will see how it feels in the morning but gripping farmers walk handles could be interesting.

Extra bit of salt on your food helps.
As does watching TV/youtube while eating. Distracts you and before you know it your food is gone.

Deadlift session today felt strong. Had a strap slip after the 3rd rep on 415 but I’m happy with how they felt. Definitely had the scheduled 5 reps there today. Rest of the session went as planned.

Deadlift 415×3
Paused Leg Press 500x4x6
Seated Leg Curl 152.5×10 115.5×17

Rest day. Felt a bit beat up today so happy to rest.
Sorted the gym out ready for tomorrow’s deadlift session. One problem with having loads of kit including bulky strongman kit is that you have to keep moving things around and be smart with kit storage.

Thursday update: 145.5kg
Log and Viking press session in the barn. Switched the push press out on the log in place of a strict log press to save the knees a little now that the moving events are stepping up. Felt great and hit some awesome numbers.
Log Strict Press 153×1
Viking Press 180×12 150x2x8 (strict)
Pressdowns 61.25×7 47.25×12
Dips 50 reps
DB Lateral Raise 50 reps
Front hold 1x1min -
Physio session today followed by a couple of events at the farm. Just farmers walk and sandbag loading now as I cover the rest of the events spread across my other sessions. I much prefer it this way of training these days.
Farmers felt fast and felt fit on the sandbag steeplechase.
Farmers walk 3x30m
Sandbag steeplechase 3sets -
Tuesday update:
Rest day. Had sports massage and generally chilled for the day. Back loading the food today after giving my digestion a little break.

Bodyweight up a little before I have a couple of low days this week to reset digestion so we can get back into the 150s.
Trained in the barn today and had a decent session. Held back a little on the incline as lifting without a spotter.

CG Pulldown 149×6 113×15
Seated BB Press 110×9 90×10

Rest day. Needed it. Got all my steps and meals in so we’ll see where the bodyweight is at tomorrow morning as we start a new week.
8 weeks to go.

The joint stack from TBJP has done wonders for my knees and elbows.
I would highly recommend it.
You can also look to add in some Spanish squat, leg extension or leg press isometrics prior to your lower sessions to help knee pain. 3x45sec holds is a good place to start.

Pressed send a little early, got distracted by the rugby…. The session:

Reverse hypers 3×10
Deadlift 285x5x1
Leg Press 475x4x6
Seated Leg Curl 151.25×10 114.25×17

Deadlift session today in a very hot barn. Speed pulls this week fortunately so no suit to also deal with. Pulls felt great and managed to progress all my other lifts as planned. Replaced my back extensions with some duck walk high pulls in prep for the powerstairs event in 8 weeks time
