Physio session followed by my first proper press session including some strongman movements. I forgot how tough these sessions are when you have to move the strongman kit about. Doesn’t look much on paper but it took 2 hours to complete with the set up and warm up. Lockouts felt great and I feel like I’ve got a lot more pressing power overhead following the previous block.

Log Press 123x8x1 (short rest periods)
    Viking press 150×15 120x3x8 (strict)
    Pressdowns 59×8 45×15
    Dips 50 reps
    DB Lateral Raise 50 reps

Join in is one hell of a product and has worked wonders for my joints as well as for other “non-lifters” I have recommended it to as a replacement to NSAIDs

Rich has outlined the options perfectly.

In your case I would say a couple of days off would be the best choice in this instance.

Body still wrecked this morning so took the rest day.

Had massage in the morning and got my steps in resulting in me feeling much better this evening.

Back in the gym for some proper strongman pressing tomorrow.

    Rest day.

At a truck expo with Iveco today in an ambassador role. A lot of fun but also a lot of time out in the sun and a lot of miles driven.

Body is feeling really fatigued right now. Will see how I wake up tomorrow and plan from there

We are heading back home tomorrow morning

Assess your ankle ROM via a knee to wall test (YouTube it).

I also like to use this moment for reps very regularly to increase ROM on the desired side of necessary.

Rest day. Got outside for a little bit of float fishing fun in the sun. We are still away from home at the moment but I’m ensuring that I have all my meals with me and nothing is missed.

No exercise is essential, use what exercises you are confident in and then use the hack squat in higher rep ranges with lighter loads to build confidence in it if it’s a movement you want to use later down the line

Push session in a pure gym today. Pretty solid really. Matrix machines aren’t the best but free weights are free weights. In line bench felt super easy but the gym was brand new and the bars were a little slippy so stuck to a very comfortable double on my top set.

    Pressdowns 59×8 45×14
    Incline Bench 180×2 145x3x2
    Seated Smith Press 140×8 120×12
    DB Lateral Raise 50 reps
    DB Skullcrushers 50 reps
    Cable fly triplet 3×12/12/12
    Hanging leg raises 3×12

Rest day today. Plenty of walking with the dogs soo got my steps in easily. Hydration was the name of the game today, had to proper put some water away to keep myself topped up in the heat.

    Push session tomorrow

Holiday session in a random local gym. Had some good kit actually, it also helps that I use basic movements with simple kit a lot in my training. There’s no way I would have been able to do a heavy deadlift session in there but I managed to get my scheduled speed pulls done no problem. My next session on Thursday will be in a pure gym which will be fun.

    Seated DB Curl 50 reps
    EZ Bar curl 50 reps
    Deadlift 260x5x2
    Bent over row 200×8 160×12
    CG Pulldown 2 sets
    WG Pulldown 50 reps
    Seated cable row 50 reps
