Trip to the barbers to get the lid sorted for the weekend. We’re basically moving hair around at this point haha.

Then got a set of throws done with singles on each weight then a 6 bag run going 18-26kg. Goal was to move the bags fast and we definitely nailed that.

Followed that up with another physio session treating my tricep and pecs then some hip mobility. Headed home and got my food prepped and comp bag packed for the weekend.

Head on up to Sheffield tomorrow then it’s interviews, press stuff and athletes meeting in the evening.

Rest day, no training just some proper first world problems to deal with – a broken hot tub to repair haha.

Apart from that I got out for a walk with the dogs at lunch time and got my bags packed for the weekend.

It all depends on how you are sleeping and how good you feel the next day. If you are tired the next day and slept poorly then you might want to make a change.

Try a bottle of Unwind for a month and see if you feel it benefits you.

Physio session this morning followed by a super short intense session in the gym.

Nothing crazy just a chance to move and move some weight with some intent to keep my body primed for the weekend. Felt awesome just using 60% comp weights for doubles on the axle press (100kg) and the deadlift (240kg) and the bar was moving insanely fast. I’m super excited for the weekend now as I’ve never felt power like that.

Finished the day with a dog walk and massage.

No training today, kept myself moving and got out for a walk with the dogs.

Not much else to report really. I have physio, a very short movement session and massage to get done tomorrow

Spent the day down at the opening of the TBJP x Shed – unbelievable turn out and an amazing gym.

The kit and layout looked awesome and everyone there looked like they had a great time trying out the gym.

If you’re in the Cheltenham area it’s definitely a gym to visit.

Great final little events day yesterday. Just a single stone run of 100-180 completed in under 17sec.

Got to the farm and took my time warming up as I warmed up the stones. Put the pressure on with a single run – no re dos. Feeling ready for Brits.

Now off to the TBJPxShed to see the team, check out the gym and meet some people.

6am start, in the truck and drove 4.5hours up north. Did two events and drove another 4.5hours south back home.

Totally worth it. Had another run on the throwing bags which was perfect then a couple of sets with the arm over arm. The locking system is now in place and works perfectly but it does add a little resistance so it was worth all the driving today to ensure I know what I’m dealing with next week.

Main thing to do tomorrow is a 100-180kg stone run but I’ll also do a set of throws while the stones warm up. I’ve been heating the stones before using them as due to the cold weather it makes them extremely difficult to lift while they are sub zero.

Very low volume press session today. Goal is to keep the body moving without any major fatigue. Feeling really strong at the moment – we’re talking peak strength so I’m very happy and excited for Brits.

    Axle press 163×1
    Incline DB Press 40×10
    Seated DB Press 40×10

Up very early in the morning to get on the road up north again.

    Rest day.

Kept myself moving today, had some calls to make and got all my meals in.

Slight change of plan for tomorrow as I need to be on the road Friday to re test kit so I’ll be getting a low volume press session done tomorrow.

    Hi Jay

As Clare has stated an elimination diet starting with the usual suspects is the way to go here.

Find the food that cause issues and get rid. Track everything.

I’ve had issues with whey in the past so I removed it from my diet. Since then I have been able to reintroduce the Whey Iso Pro and a Digest Pro tab with no stomach issues.

Another good day today. Physio session in the morning and my body is not feeling as beat up each week now so I know the taper is working.

In the gym today I worked up to 165×5 on the squat and 240×5 on the deadlift. Obviously felt super easy as it should.

Finished the day with massage working on my IT bands, pecs and lats.

Feeling really good at the moment

    Monday’s session.

Couldn’t log on yesterday so apologies for the delayed post.

Down the farm for some smoothing of some movements. Very low volume. I hit 5 singles on 122 on the fixed axle, a single heavy set of 5 pulls on the arm over arm and then a single run of 120/140/160/180 to the higher platforms.

All felt great and I’m feeling real strong right now. It’s all about resisting the urge to do more and more at this point in comp prep.

Do some high rep one arm rows, see where it hurts the next day.

As Louis has stated it depends on where you drive your elbow back to. Closer and lower to the body should target lats, higher and wider should hit more of the muscles that make up the upper back.

Rest day today. Body is feeling ok but my back is a little stiff from the travel yesterday.

Got a long walk in with the dogs and now I’m off to bed ready for another decent training week.
