And how are you progressing? Both from a development and a performance perspective?

Much much better push session this evening

Seems like last time out was a bit of a one off and shoulders are back with me today

All meals down, all prep for tomorrow done. Time for sleep.

Me too, I know the “it depends” answers can seem a little frustrating at times, but as the team have said, it’s so person specific it’s really hard to give anything definitive

For me, the important thing here is that you have a good handle on everything. Your parameters impacting recovery, your training consistency, and how all of that can flux as required

Another key consideration is what you are training at the moment, and whether this is a significant shift in approach, or something you are accustomed to (albeit with a change of content to the sessions).

Sorted meal prep and ready for an early night ahead of a push session tomorrow 💪🏻

Exactly as Meg has suggested mate. No reason at all she can’t shift the emphasis of her trainihg to lower body, incorporating glute movements as highlighted

Another decent leg day in the books. Knees feeling better and better, allowing me to creep a bit more out of each session (which is obviously right on philosophy)

Put belt squat back in today which felt good and I enjoyed pushing myself on

Resting tomorrow, meals prepped , one more feed tonight and then an early night before a looooong work week

    Absolutely mate.

There are no hard and fast rules, we each have different needs and recovery capacities

Try it and see how it goes mate

    Hi mate

I’d say it’s unlikely there won’t be other options that can contribute to your progress.

Do you have heavy dual cable stacks that you can set up a cable chest press on? These are almost infinitely adjustable to find a set up that works well for you.

With that said, definitely feel empowered to try to higher volume across two movements if you’re not feeling the progress with other set ups

    Rest day today

Not much planned at all for this evening. Small amount of downtime and then an early night

One meal left tonight then food shopping and pull session on the cards for tomorrow

What if you do quad focussed legs with a ham curl on Sunday?

    Push session this evening

It had all been going so well, shoulders just didn’t like me today.

Managed to get most of my movements done and progressed, but the Smith work just wasn’t going to happen so altered rep ranges and worked hard without breaking anything

Bit of a crappy reminder that it’s not all ok , but that’s where I’m at

Just sorted meals for tomorrow, now for shower, feed, and sleep

  • Hi mate

I agree with a lot of what Nath has said.

Your recovery being “good” is relative to the stress you’re putting on your system.

If you’re trashing yourself, your recovery isn’t good.

I would probably be looking at this by resetting my baseline volume. What is YOUR minimum effective dose to provide a stimulus?

If you just don’t like failure training, absolutely explore RIR.

I’d look at it from an effective (stimulating) reps perspective across muscle groups if that were the case for me.

Recognise total working sets will go up, more time training, especially if you utilise the incremental system.

There are pros and cons to both from a recovery perspective, but understand you may just have your base volume way off at the moment.

    Hi mate

Is it possible for you to present the sessions a bit more coherently?

I’m not sure how much I like the auto regulation of training days. It seems a sure fire way to forever be reacting rather than setting yourself up for a consistent approach.
