    morning

    pull session today
    rest day yesterday – was a nice day – went and had a belated bday lunch at rick steins restaurant
    so so nice ….steamed sea bass fillet and rice with green beans and beetroot – stuck to macros – beautiful meal

    came home – made a tiffin for chris at the gym as he competed yesterday in his first show!
    he wanted peanut butter….so i went in HARD on the PB haha

    nice to have a time frame – roughly 6 months – april 2020
    its likely that there will be a couple of shows in that period – game plan is to target 3 ish shows and accrue points

    If I don’t…then its back to the drawing board and will be looking at the 0 2021.

    BUT FOR NOW….we grow

    I think food is going up soon – but I will update when we decide …as ever I don’t think it NEEDS to BUT this is why I don’t make my own changes as I would hold myself back

    SUPERB LEG SESSION
    as per below

    Seated ham curl – heavy x 8, 1 peg down x 10, few pegs down x 18 – ALL UP FROM LAST SESSION…..GAME ON TO DO THE STACK FOR ABOUT 6…IM 3 PINS OFF !
    leg press – HERE WE GOOOO – 185kg each side x 20 – UPPED IT BY 5KG PER DAY AND WAS HOPING FOR 13….SO HEY THERE 20 REPS….upped the weight – 205kg each side I got 15 – LAST TIME THIS WAS 200.5KG X 7 (yes after squats) BUT SAY WHAT? 15 REPS? …so was ordered to up again. 225kg each side x 8 – SO HAPPY….I PROMISE TO SHOW YOU ALL SOME FREAKY DEAKY LEGGIES!
    DB lying ham – rest pause set, so hard this move! I expect it to increase nicely…20kg x 10,3,1 and a forced rep BURNYYYYY
    paused A2G smith squat with raised heels – I love this one…60kg each side x 6….50kg each side x 12 – HAPPY
    glute drive – 2 sets , 13, same weight 11 – NICELY UP HELLO BIG BOTTOM GIRLS….APPARENTLY THEY MAKE THE WORLD GO ROUND? 😉
    adductor – stack x 9, stack plus the extender and 5kg x 6…reduce x 16 reps – I WONT BIG OLD SWEEPY ADDUCTORS
    abs – leg raises – 3 sets
    calves – 3 sets

    LOVELY JOB!!

    @mauro – completely agree….a coach is a fashion accessory it seems
    and that is the reason why I now really am not taking on new clients unless I know there is a passion – feel like ive be ‘used, abused and disrespected’ a little too much haha

    bicep curl – 3 sets – 12, increase, 7, reduce, 13
    3 sets of high inc DB – 35kg x 7, 37,5 kg x 5 , 40kg x 5 – LAST REP WASNT 100% ME, JORDAN GUIDED MAINLY FOR STABILITY HERE…so happy with this….I really think I can get 50kg x maybe 3 by the end of this run BUT dbs are hard one to gauge…so I wont over do it – VIDEO ON IG FOR THOSE THAT CARE THAT MUCH haha
    HS high inc press – again super happy! 70kg each side x 7…75kg each side x 5…50kgs each side x 13
    dip machine – 3 sets again, x 10, increased x 9…reduced x 12
    lying cuff – 3 sets same thing, set, increase, reduce
    upright row on the smith – 3 sets, kept the same weight on 1 and 2 and got a rep, then reduced
    rev pec dec – 3 sets
    abs – 2 sets

    @james – thank you …I think some how the new generation (so to speak) have been mislead into thinking that there is an easy way…they believe there is magic to stretch and squeeze training…there is magic to IIFYM…they don’t realise the basics of get strong, train til you cry, diet really hard and accept that eating low calories is needed… fancy words and excuses….that’s all I hear these days and I don’t connect with it – its hard to break that kinda thought process as why would anyone want to WORK HARD?!

    also…your wife is my new hero haha – luckily labour is usually a long process…plenty of time to get prep done first haha

    so today has been a rest day but its workkkkkkkk day – well they all are…but this is super pull your hair out kinda work day haha

    I don’t understand why people ‘suffer’ through with this lifestyle if it makes them unhappy?
    surely we are all in it to enjoy it? any level – any sport – any hobby
    if I hated flowers I wouldn’t be a florist….if I hated animals I would volunteer at a dog centre….so if you don’t enjoy diet and training why have a diet and commit to this kind of training?
    if anyone has the answer….please let me know!

    (and this is not aimed at any 1 individual…this is just something that I feel is very relevant to this industry)

    I had treatment today – I was like a cookie!! crunching alllllll over the show haha felts amazing and loosened me up well…I will be seeing the chiro about once a month to stay on top of this old body 🙂

    session was brilliant
    few exercise changes

    deficit trap bar – we did this with a BIG deficit, 4 maps, so about 5 inches – handles fell at lower calf, so pulling lower than a BB set up
    3 sets – 205kg x 8…185kg x 11…16kg x 13 – FOCUS HERE IS TO GET 225KG (5 PLATES) FOR A GOOD 6 BY THE END OF THIS RUN
    Lat pull down – 3 sets, using the reps of 10 ish, increase 6 ish, reduce 15 ish
    seated row – same as above
    lying ham curl – 2 heavy sets – then 3rd set higher rep, so I went to failure for about 10 then reduce load and continued the set to total 18 – ONE WAY WE ARE INTENSIFYING THE SETS NOW THAT I AM INTO THE NEXT PHASE
    HS leg press – CHANGES FROM PENDULUM…125kgs ES x 11 and a half – BOY JOLLLY IT HURT
    Pendulum – A2G paused – 1 set, 20 reps…I used 60kg on this – 1 LESS SET HERE AS ITS ONLY 3 SLEEPS TIL LEG DAY AND THE TRAP BAR REALLY HITS MY QUADS
    adductor – 2 sets, higher rep today
    calves standing – 3 sets all 10-12
    hanging leg raise – BW 2 sets
    I zig zagged abs and calves but mainly for practicality – no reason for or against this….sometimes I do the straight.

    feeling very excited… Jordan is really pushing me hard and making sure the training is tailored to the letter. we are on a missionnnn

    I have seen its before actually….yeasrsssssss ago in London…still loved it 🙂

    so its legpull today
    I think we are going to change to a deficit trap pull
    I have had a tremendous run on deads! and I will go back to them but there is no merit in linearly trying to increase the weights as I know that will end badly

    so better to progress another move as I have with deads…exhaust that to a safe and solid point…then switch back and surpass the 190 x 6

    if youre looking for unpasteurised you will need to search online or go to a health shop
    ive not used it myself but I have of the brand ‘hurly burly’ which do it

    hey
    there are always muscle groups that are harder or slower to progress
    for me, push is also the hardest area

    BB and DB are very much to do with stabilisation of the bar – so are hindered by other factors, not just strength
    also the increases in weight on DBs are large so not realistic to increase from 20kg x 10 to 25kg without a big drop off in reps….again not reflective of stalling, just re setting

    In my opinion your volume is quite high
    so maybe look to remove the 3rd set

    the set up of your whole training and diet may be affecting this too

    hope my thoughts help a little 🙂
