yeh it was upsetting – really was

but I think its good for me – its made me very focussed on fulfilling my goals – even more so than before

I have written up the whole week post show for those who care
so will post that tomorrow along with my new diet etc etc

so can we say 59 weeks out from the O 2020? haha 😉

    Here it goes

As you know I was MEANT to be targeting Toronto and Omaha – 1st and 8th june

I allowed 8 weeks pretty much to start coming down…usually enough time – I was in a great spot
Most mass, leanest, stronger and high food….dog walks only

Made initial changes as normal…body didn’t really alter

Looked at all variables – thought the my thyroid meds may be the issue, so changed those – Body still not playing ball

Got to 4 out from Toronto and said to Jordan that I wasn’t 4 out and the changes were not adding up…we talked, he agreed, so thought, no issue…lets target a few weeks later – Chicago 4th july, and push a little harder

Body still not changing at the rate it usually would

Starting to lose faith a little and getting pretty upset…thinking something was up….so ran bloods…mostly fine, but thyroid was still low – acted on this

By this point Chicago was not even looking doable….i was about 5 weeks out

I was feeling so shit…like everything I had worked for, and the best off season was not at all equating to the best prep….and I felt very confused and very lost – I had no idea what to do.

Jordan was equally as upset, as my prep is his prep…he has created me from day 1 and he actually puts more heart into me than himself! So with this, I didn’t want to increase his stress or frustration what will the work load we currently have….so I decided that I would give it one last push – not one to back down…i already felt like a failure and I genuinely believed at this point the show was off.

I was thinking that my body was in a state of being totally over trained and it simply needed to stop the process.

    I haven’t stopped pushing for about 7/8 years….so understandable I guess

    SO
I asked peter hill to take the reins and tell me what to do – I needed someone to give me direct instruction and push me.
I explained to him that I was 99% sure I wasn’t going to compete but wanted to try for a few weeks then rebound out….as I was feeling very over whelmed at the thought of a blunted body and starting an offseason….i was scared that I would be stuck on low food, not super lean and not able to get out of it

He took my diet and altered a little – not loads due to the time frame, but reduced protein and kcals in general
Added in cardio too – 30mins am training days, 45mins am rest day

    I was 161.6lbs on the 21st june
I had one very small bump in carbs on 1st july
On 7th july body was at 149lbs
Dropping a total of 12.6 lb in 10 days.

So I stopped the cardio – 2 ish weeks in total only

And this is where is got interesting….body went into YEH IM GUNA GET SUPER LEAN NOW MODE

Then it was a case of eating to NOT drop – so Jordan took back the control as he is the only one that has seen this happen in the past and he was there physically to see it and guide me.

Each morning I posed and he dictated the diet – my carb up essentially started at about 2 weeks out – its CRAZY how much food my body needs
For example I ran 3 consecutive days at 500c – and I gained ZERO weight (that was a lie I gained 0.4lb) so we ran 1 lower day at 300c…next morning 2lb had gone.

So this was panic time! Haha – I then ran 750c and gained about 2lbs

This kinda pattern continued over the next few days.

Baseline weight was 144.8lb on Wednesday 17th july….i didn’t take scales will me to the comp as its not a variable I care for, it can confuse the decision making…everything is visual, especially at this time – so I don’t know what it was pre stage – but about that

And then the rest was history….. 

I don’t think protein increase will help towards performance per say
if you need more fuel I would turn to another macro

if you are still lean and an active person, then more carbs would a good choice

    what do you think?

not a guy…but ill chip in!

I think the biggest thing I wish I had known…would have been execution – rather than moving weight without contraction

I got strong which was great BUT it did mean I lacked development of certain muscles…which I am now developing

    thanks Jarvis 🙂

so Saturday 20th july….very special day because its my mummys birthday….now I know we all (mostly) love our mums…but I cant even express it…sure, she irritates the poop out of me at times, can be very difficult and has a very quick to turn personality haha BUT tbh…I have that too….

she is niche…she is kind, she is generous, she is beyond funny….shes opened minded, shes supportive

she cant cook that well, nor can she draw or sing…in facts its terrible haha

when we play she charades she get so so into it and her first act is always Jaws

I was so pissed at myself for not being there with her today….she doesn’t actually care but I care…so from me to her…happy birthday mum…
