Try a xylometazoline nasal spray with eucalyptus and Breathe Right Nose Strips.

This will open nasal cavity and reduce nasal inflammation and hopefully reduce snoring.

The other thing is mouth taping….it is a real thing and has big success in eliminating mouth breathing patterns at night.

Combine the 3 and you should be able to avoid a CPAP as I don’t think your wife is going to like living with the sound of it if she can’t stand snoring…….

Always take before bed on an empty stomach or 2 hours after meal or as you said in middle of night when you get up to go bathroom.

Thyroid production occurs mainly during the night at sleep so before bed on empty stomach allows for
    1. Optimal absorption.
    2. Mimic circadian rhythm production

    Mike,

I definitely think it has its uses however it is a known gut bacteria toxin so it can cause dysbiosis.

But periodic use most definitely will have positive benefits to aiding insulin sensitivity especially when used in a contest prep scenario following high carb refeeds.

I would look to drop E2 a little Jellevdd but also get FT3 checked as said so give a better picture of thyroid metabolism.

I’ve never really looked into mechanism as close as this for Modafinl.

Mechanisms of modafinil: A review of current research
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2654794/

Modafinil was shown to have binding a affinity using binding assays for the following receptors and binding sites: adenosine, dopamine, GABA, serotonin, NMDA, kainite, quisqualate, glycine, benzo-diazepine, phencyclidine, MK-801, angiotensin, Arg-vasopressin, bombesin, cholecystokinin, neuropeptide Y, substance K, substance P, neurotensin, somatostatin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, atrial natriuretic factor 1, epidermal growth factor, nerve growth factor, calcium channels, chloride channels, low conduction K+ channels, and second messenger systems; and the following uptake channels: adenosine, choline, GABA, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin.

I’ve highlighted above what could possibly lead to water retention but it is a very REAL side effect from the literature – guess I never took that much of it or relied on it

Also Modafinil stimulates histamine (HA), norepinephrine (NE), serotonin (5-HT), dopamine (DA), and orexin systems in the brain, but researchers have not been able to isolate a single site of action or locate major receptor binding.

However, as it interacts with histamine receptors, I can only make an assumption that there could be a rebound of circulating histamine causing the water retention almost like an allergic reaction.

I guess a a hypothesis to prove would be to take an antihistamine to block the histamine receptors and see does it still happen or start to disappear………guess you’ll have to be a guinea pig Donald muhahahah 🙂

I would stil supplement with ox bile as there is not a lot in the Solgar enzymes.

Without billirubin I can’t even give a hypothetical answer as the status of your gallbladder is unknown.

As uncomfortable as it is you NEED to drink MORE to get ADH balanced again.

Keep carbs same as precontest or a little lower and make sure you increase salt intake back to precontest levels.

Stay strict with diet and within 3 days you’ll be back to baseline.

The no sweat and lack of pee is a clear sing of ADH being out of whack.

I’ll have to look into the mechanism for you but Phenylpiraracetam is a good substitute. I used it last year but only sparingly – twice a week on stressful work days.
