    Hunger was definitely there throughout but I controlled it drinking coffee all night for both. I’ve very little food focus so it didn’t bother me at all.

    After the 2nd night I’m convinced it’s something which is beneficial after the clean out that occurred.
    From reading the literature, autophagy occurs in the presence of low insulin, and no present activation of AMPK or mTOR.

    Also nights have been quiet so if you do have poor food focus the time will go very very slowly. How I done it was eat at 8 a.m then bedtime until 5 p.m, up and drank 2 litre water with 10g psyllium and travelled to work and home for 7 a.m.

    The first night, by 11 p.m I did have a headache and a strange zoned in feeling but that then passed and the rest of night was pleasant.

    The second night I had to oversee some activity at some of rhe machines in the factory around 4 a.m and did go hypo with cold sweats but controlled it with some coffee with artificial sweetner and it passed.

    Definitely something to try at some point

    After doing the 1st 24 hr fast, decided to do one more last night…….

    One thing I done for both fasts was take 10g psyllium husk 3 times throughout due to the water being drank……

    And this morning is when the “clean” out really occurred…….

    Weight this evening was 213.2 lb so down quite a few lbs since Saturday but no size lost – just water and I’m leaner too…….

    Not sure if its something I’d recommend everyone do but in the 11 years I’ve been “bodybuilding” dieting along with kickboxing I’ve never done a break like this so let’s see how it translates once I go back training at the end of this rest week and food goes back up.

    Toby, as Corinne said, you really need to understand what you are doing and I’d advise getting the training if available as you can seriously damage a vein if you don’t understand what you are doing……

    But for “educational” purposes and because the test kit only requires max 2 x 0.6ml samples:

    1. A tourniquet if you are not lean enough or can’t locate a vein in forearm at elbow joint.
    2. A 5ml syringe and 25g needle.
    3. Sterilise area and run needle in slowly and straight perpendicular to vein until fully inserted.
    4. Slowly draw back on syringe to fill.
    5. Slowly remove from area and clean.

    Rested last night – ended up being quiet in work.

    Weight was 216.8 lb this evening.

    I decided to try a 24 hour fast yesterday at work to see if there are really any tangible benefits to be gotten from it seeing as this is a full rest week and I’ve been pushing food for the last while.

    So I fasted from 8 a.m Sunday to 8 a.m this morning and just had my normal bedtime meal.

    One thing I did notice was really enhanced mental clarity by the end of the fast and my knees have been pretty stiff and inflamed the last week and that reduced greatly. No unusual bowel movements which some people report so all must be good there.

    Not really sure of anything digestion related as food is low on rest days so we’ll see when we finish up this week.

    Looks like hopefully another quiet night again …….

    Simple test for lower back compression.

    Lie on your back and try bring your legs over your head and touch the floor…….

    This decompresses lower back and I’m willing to bet you wont be able to get your legs even over your head…….

    Gain 10-12 in first week???????

    You should gain no more than 2, max 3 lb if you seriously don’t want to impair your off season and not stress your body…….

    You diet for 16-20 weeks and then fck everything up in the space of 3-4 days by binging uncontrollably……people with this mentality are not wise at all……

    Post show, you should enjoy your food that night and then focus on hydration and electrolyte balance.

    Then the next day back to normal routine diet and enjoy a free meal that night too if desired.

    Then back to normal contest prep diet from the 2nd day post show until water levels balance and body reaches homeostasis again.

    Your TSH is quite high…..what was your estrogen level>

    Your B12 being high may be a remnant of poor gut health…….

    I wouldn’t worry so much about your Free Test being just out of range.
    I’d be more looking towards your actual Total value which is quite low even though its “normal” range……

    Trained Chest/Shoulders/Arms at work last night before JP called for a full rest week.

    My body has been getting progressively tired and not healing as well as it should so a week’s rest should do the job. The last time I had a planned week off was last March LOL and the last rest I had was the 4 days I got ill after our holiday 5 weeks ago.

    6 weeks until our wedding so that will leave us with 5 weeks to give it all I’ve got for this push.

    Just on a personal note, my sperm count test was under 15 million so I’m inevitably going to have to run a Power PCT/hMG protocol once I’m back from the honeymoon in March so I can document that later on if it will help some people out. You want both a high motility and high count to contribute to a high success rate but I’m confident its an easily resolved issue.

    Going to be a longggggg 3 nights with no training LOL; might let me catch up on some of my books πŸ™‚

    Look at Vitamin B5 supplementation too Ali.

    This will feed into Retinoid synthesis for skin health.

    Also no need for more than 6 minutes sunbed time – this will be long enough to dry out the skin and irradiate the bacteria.

    Carbohydrate utilization would actually be greater when sick so you’re probably starting to verge on the side of resistance if fasting BG is consistently over 5.5 mmol. We want it sub 5.5 (100ng/DL) for things to be in a healthy spot/

    I don’t really see the problem re: T3 and anesthesia.

    Start supplementing with seleno-monomethionine and ensure you are getting 150mcg of Iodine to encourage production of more selenoproteins involved in tyroxine conversion.

    Lower androgens and estrogen in the body so as to reduce thyroid hormone binding globulin.

    Do not add HSH or peptides……..

    And Max, thyroid rebound is a myth if I’m honest. Your body will reproduce TSH quite quickly once your HPA hasn’t been damaged.
