Nothing to add, Oscar and Rich covered it well. PPL UL is very enjoyable also. Most fun I’ve had with training!

L-Carnitine is a good addition if he wants it. Yohimbine ruined my sleep so not a fan. Just my experience, I know lots like using it.

Magnesium, Berberine or anything that helps with sleep and recovery. Now you’re at the back end you need to be managing sleep, stress, digestion, inflammation etc.

Has he outlined how he wants to look in this shoot? How far away is he and what are your plans for him from now until then?

Don’t always get caught up in amount of weight lost, as being fuller and drier beats the extra 4/5lbs loss in some cases.

Keep going until your holiday. You don’t have to dig too deep as you can maintain the condition you’re in, use that time away to get fresh, mentally and physically and enjoy time off with your family. Starts your push after you get back.

Run with this and just ensure you stick to 1 set per movement and do the lowest volume possible. See how you go with it after a few cycles and then adjust what you need to based on recovery and impact onto your football and vica versa.

So there’ll be varying answers to this depending on how important football and bodybuilding training is and what’s at stake with them. If it’s just a kick about with the lads (5 a side or something) then I wouldn’t worry too much about where you put leg training. If it’s a team you play for and it’s very much a big thing for you, then this can work BUT don’t fall into the trap of thinking smaller muscle groups can take a pounding and you can recover well (the muscle can, connective tissues can’t). Tendinitis etc isn’t something you typically train through well.

Thank you for the feedback thus far…what I love about the current setup is the exercise selection and focus of the upper and lower sessions.

My only reason in contemplating a change is to check my ego in the chance that there could be some better progress made by making this change…

However unsure what movements I should get rid of and which movements I’d be best adding in.

I’d stay as you are with it bud. FBEOD training will take away the enjoyment of you enjoy doing upper with multiple sets and lower respectively.

If you are already enjoying 1 on/1 off training then FBEOD would be better in terms of building, BUT what do you enjoy about training upper lower on a 1 on/1 off setup?

Not a fan of legs before upper personally. Doesn’t mean people don’t progress, but would this be better?:

    Upper
    Legs
    Rest
    Push
    Pull
    Rest/Light Cardio
    Rest

This is purely based on your last suggestion, I’d personally just opt for PPL rest and repeat based on the original post you made.

    Yeah PPL is ideal.

U/L is still a good option if you still need overall size. Just have a baseline amount of leg sets and stick bicep work on lower. The frequency of upper work will see it grow quick anyway. I do think PPL would be better though. Depends which you enjoy more.

As the gang said, up your output. If you’re pushed for time, get up a bit earlier, bit of HIIT in the morning for 20 mins or add some cardio at the end of your gym sessions (doesn’t have to be every single session).

Doing a blast on the air bike before I eat breakfast sets me up for a productive day generally. You’ll feel better for it.

Stick a link to your presses up bud and we can see.

You’d benefit from exposure to lower rep sets, but once your form breaks down, rack it. If you’re grinding out reps with bad form then you’re just moving weight other muscle groups and exposing yourself to a tear.

Don’t be embarrassed mate, you’ve identified what you need to rectify and are wanting to change things. First step and all that ✅

Link doesn’t work bud. Post it in a comment where we can copy and paste as you cannot copy and paste from the original post.

Re: adherence and consistency… are you better off with a coach? Someone who’ll do all the thinking and decision making for you so you just execute as told? I believe you’d make more progress with a good coach in a year than you have in the decade before it. You can also discuss with a potential coach how you’d factor in the foods you like in your off-plan meals and not deny yourself the odd Bangladeshi home made foods.

Hi bud, your triceps being cooked and your chest lacking leads me to think you need to look at execution rather than programming.

You will get a certain amount of tricep in your presses, but to what degree based on form. Sticking triceps at the start may help with you hitting them fresh, but won’t help your lack of chest activation.

You can chuck some vids up if you want.
