Hey mate, I’ve always wondered this and never know the answer to be honest! I just always thought that when all the water is out of the raw chicken that cooked weight was what you went off! Me and James have done it like this since we started Bodybuilding! Maybe we are over eating on the protein a little then haha! Thanks for the information though it really helps! Always learning in this sport it’s so amazing!

Hi Dan! Thanks so much and thanks for the message! I’ve been quite lucky to be honest injury wise I tore my hamstring a few years back playing rugby and I’ve always had a little shoulder injury! I tend to train quite smart and with very very strict form I am always complimented on how good my form is. I think stretching and warming up is important to staying injury free I do a lot of warm up sets before I begin my working sets but I am a little lazy with stretching I should do more! Usually do a little after but that’s it. Calves I like to try and train every other day. Any exercise and do 4 sets of failure on that exercise and that’s it. I choose a different exercise every time. Outside training I like to cook and eat. I really love my food. I also love playing rugby but I tend not to do this too much as that is often very injury prone. I like bike riding, playing tennis, travelling. All sports really! I like going to the cinema and doing activities. Also love baking haha which you probably wouldn’t think that’s something a bodybuilder would be into! I am on call 24/7 with my work so it’s also hard to get out and do things at times. It’s a little different now that I’m older as I do take more time off but for years and years I didn’t go anywhere or do anything and I was just waiting at home for the phone to ring! I try to be a lot more social now! I’m also very very close with my family so I like to spend a lot of time with them!

Good morning guys! Just an update! I decided to do a last minute show, so I drove 3 hours down to wales early this morning to complete in the ukbff welsh show in the hopes to qualify to compete in the diamond cup Barbados ifbb elite pro qualifier next weekend! Unfortunately I got turned away and banned for competing with the NPC back in March. Obviously I’m extremely disappointed but it is what it is so I’ll be heading into my offseason soon. My flights were booked already so I’ll be going on holiday to Barbados next week and then when I get home I will get started on a productive offseason to build some more mass to help me be competitive in the NPC as an amateur. Any questions hit me up below! If your coming to the 2 bros pros event tomorrow I will be floating around at the stand if you have any questions or anything feel free to ask me! Thanks guys and have a lovely weekend make sure you enjoy the beautiful weather we have at the moment!

Hi Buddy, I’ve always had super small ankles and joints which make my lower leg look tiny!! I’ve trained them all types of ways! What works best for me is every other day. 4 sets of failure on any calf exercise. Usually start at around 15-20 rep range and stick with the same weight and my reps may slightly lower each set. I don’t have flex Lewis calves by any meals but he did compliment me on them when I saw him yesterday haha so they can’t be that bad coming from the calf king!

Louis when lean like now do you find strength dips. Especially in the fasted sessions? Obviously guys like us at a lower BW I find holding ridiculous strength can be difficult
Hi Josh, to be honest I haven’t lost much strength since I was in the offseason. I’ve always seen it as if you’ve built that muscle to lift them weights you should be able to maintain it through the prep. I could have potentially lost a little on some exercises but not noticeably. The fasted sessions have been tough due to lack of sleep also.

Yes ofcourse 100g cooked is more protein than 100g raw!

Hi, I personally weigh all my protein out cooked weight. I’m not sure of the exact science but I would personally say 100g Cooked Chicken would be 20g as there’s not really any water in the chicken after it’s been cooked. That could just be me though and that’s how I’ve done things for years with all my protein sources!
100g cooked chicken is 30g protein bud. similar with most meats.
raw is between 21-24g and the varience is due to water weight changing from meat source to meat source

MemberJune 28, 2019 at 7:57 am in reply to: Dealing with loss of condition when bulkingHey Buddy! I’m not going to lie it is a real struggle for me! I tend to get very soft very quickly after competitions as I tend to indulge in food a little even though I still eat clean most of the time and still do cardio them meals off really tend to effect me! It is not easy to deal with this mentally but after a few years in the game you will realise that a show ready look is not really maintainable during the offseason and I think once you come to terms with that you’ll be a little less stressed about holding a little extra fat and water especially when your trying to gain some tissue. I try to focus on improving within my training a lot more than really looking at and assessing my physique on a daily or weekly basis. I think a lot of people will suffer with the same problem but as Clare says above you do need to focus on the bigger picture and focus on the end goal and not the current situation. It’s all a process at the end of the day!

Hi mate, I’m not the biggest fan of Intra carbs as they do tent to bloat my stomach a little bit! Personally I’d lower them to maybe just 20g and add in extra carbs into your pre and post workout meals. Eventually you can drop them completely.
