Hey. I find my pressing progress pretty much halts when I go into a diet phase, I’d say it regresses a touch from a ball park 8-10 weeks in, when assistance is added for me it helps to hold my pressing strength well. When I’ve dieted without assistance I’ve found it can fall a little more especially toward the end. When pull or leg lifts I find they can continue to progress well even up, even just a tad and if they start to fall a bit we adjust the volume or look if a recovery re set is needed. But this for sure comes more as an experienced lifter/experience in comp prep settings.

You’re always going to feel more sore when you start a new split or when you start training again after a bit of time off, the body will need to get back used to it, I’d go in and want up like Adam said and get to work if you feel good, if you’re feeling sore as you get to work, lower your volume to 75% of usual and if you wake and you’re actually unable to get moving well and way too sore take an extra rest and go back in the next day

I’m with Jordan, everyone is in the gym to better themselves, if they choose to make a negative comment it’s a reflection of them not you. Your leg extensions felt great, your session felt hard and tempo and form from your explanation sounds great – keep getting after it, negative people we don’t have time for

Everyone is different maybe a confidence thing or even just the change in the stability from it being a little heavier, now focus on building the reps back up to how it was before you progressed the weight, I often see a small reduction in reps when I increase load it’s normal that’s how we progress and get stronger one tine

yeah I just keep my breathing pretty consistent, for my brace I take my big breath in and brace hard about half way through my rep so I can use that to drive out the hole
