    Hello Michael, so a few things here . Have you got access to machines ? As they are easier sometimes to connect with , once you set up to match your mechanics it’s always easier as they are not very demanding stability wise as opposed to say a barbell/dumbbell .
    And in your case things don’t seem too bad as you say you’ve had decent progression in the chest development. So maybe here the answer is to look at your program first , then make sure you pick movements that connect , after which we can look at your execution . You can always send me a video of your loading sets on my DM if you want .
    Then from there it’s an elimination process .

    Leg day today …a very huge milestone after the last 3 weeks not being able to do some proper work.
    Today I was able to do some decent work , and it felt so good loading and moving load felt so right ..
    Posted a few sets on insta if you fancy watching them .
    My lower back and adductor felt good & still feel good post workout …so it’s all good .
    Small win again 🙂

    So lower back issues is often down to execution in terms of hip thrust . Video a set DM it to me and I’ll try help .
    Alternatively stick the movement at the start when you are fresh & that way you can focus on executing it more accurately. That way it won’t sip up your lower back .
    Also mobility drills & activation drills help massively to prepare the body before the lift .

    Strentgh is relative my man …that sort of curiosity IMO might either deflate you or spur you on . But it’s definitely dodgy ground & personally I see no need to gather that data and how it’ll help.
    You have made the most progress in the last two years than the previous 5 years in total .
    That should be it. That should be enough to keep you going. Progress is what motivates us as human beings , so just focus on that log book, focus on every other variable outside the gym that’ll improve performance.
    Then if you need any other help feel free to ask us here … you are doing amazing . 🙂

    Rest day today for myself … I have felt yesterdays session today . But I’ve really not done much either .
    Just steps & chill so should be ready for legs tomorrow.
    My lower back/hip has been okay after hip hinging test, so Keeping my fingers crossed this stays the same so I can smash out a good leg session tomorrow.. 🙂

    First session back in a week. Very very productive, things moved very well & small wins taken across the session.

    Back on the platform pulling off the floor , Pain free as well…so that is a big big win . Took nothing too heavy , but was still able to pull 5 plates a side . So will take that & build from there .

    Every other movement across the session was progressed though. I was just surprised at how out of breath I was . Obviously not fully recovered but was just surprising how much being iLL takes from you .

    We are back anyway & that’s the good news ?

    Hello team , today is the first day I’d say I woke up feeling decent ish …dry cough is all that’s left .

    Got all my meals in , doubled down on my water & plan to get an early night in the hopes I’ll be even feeling much better tomorrow.

    That way I can go test the waters in the gym . I have pull tomorrow. And the plan is to go get some work done ✔️.

    Last year during the lockdown, I trained at 5:00am every morning. It was the only option.
    I made sure
    •my last meal pre bed was a big meal of protein, majority carb & a bit of fat based .
    •I made sure I was well hydrated through the day all the way up to bed. And with electrolytes taken too .
    •make sure you are in bed early and get a quality nights sleep.
    •upon wake you can take a pre workout, then sip on intra (EAA,CARB POWDER) on your way to the gym . You want this all in the hatch by the time you are doing your second compound then you are just sipping water after …
    •post workout get a good meal pro/carb in you

    Still not feeling great today …very snotty & bunged up .. still negative on the lateral flow tests which I’ve done daily so it’s a simple cold & flu .
    Just rest up and wait is the only thing we can do …

    My idea was to do some reversed banded work to help me in the deepest position of the movement. So I slowly can increase my weights again.

    Sounds like a good plan or is it better in your opinion to do banded work that have the most resistance on top end of the movement?

    Hello Roy , personally I’d look to get as strong as possible at the bottom by resetting my loads or doing paused reps at the bottom.
    I did these on the pendulum and they helped me bust past my plateau & come back stronger than ever.

    Been under them weather the last two days , with today feeling a bit better . Thought I’d had the rona but tests were negative and itv seems to be just the annual cold & flu ?.
