Oscar, I am a huge fan of the mentality you bring to this sometimes toxic sport of ours.
You’ve been running this new training plan from Jordan for a while now. How do you think it compares to the more typical push pull legs set up? Do you think anyone could benefit from this split or would they need to be more advanced?
– BradyHello Brady , first and foremost, thank you . To answer your question I’d say yes, now i am at a quite advanced stage, it does meet my needs perfectly as it addresses the detail. Jordan probably would not get me on this split 2 years ago, as I just needed to still bring everything up massively, so PPL met my needs perfectly.

DELTS & TRIS
These are coming round quick and that reflects on how fast time is flying , it’s scary …. let’s not waste any time my people… let’s live life to the fullest on our terms.
Today’s workout was one of those , pump too immense I had to take longer rest periods as everything hurt.
But all in all very productive. The dips are still there , hanging by a thread. Manager to bully a rep today . Monitoring them closely as I get heavier. Today I had a total of 177.25kg including 110kg of which is body weight. At that point the shoulder is asking questions… but they played ball today . How about have a heavy carb meal the night before & stay longer in bed . You’d be hydrated the day before . Upon Wake up get a pre workout down you and an intra to go train …that means there’s no blood around your gut supporting digestion.

REST DAY
Not done much today apart from food shop , and then cooking. Perfect changes of direction which mean no elastic energy or inertia involved. This coupled up with slow eccentrics has meant I’ve had to take a step back loading wise & start building up Strentgh again as all these variables plus effort have to be present in a set.

I am just so proud of my coach , my mentor, one of my best friends for being able to not only live his life on his own terms, but be the captain ?✈️ of his own ship.
This to me living life to the fullest, living your purpose which is to impact others positively and constantly challenge their line of thought.

LEGS
Nasty session this morning, but everything was up with numbers or load .. very happy.
Also after Consultations with Jordan I’ll bring the volume down a touch because as I get heavier and stronger it’ll just be more demanding recovery wise .

Literally posted about this on here Thursday just gone …I’d just spoke to Kuba on the phone having a catch up & we agreed as soon as gyms open we’ll get together & get some content going . I’m just as keen as you are to get it done …lol . When we get together it’s always crazy ?

Keep it basic for gen pop . I normally program 3 sec eccentrics knowing they going to hit 2 seconds anyway..

Yes they will be fully lengthened. Why don’t you address the root of the problem first instead of slashing the ROM . Maybe book a treatment with a therapist and let them get to the bottom of it?

CHEST, BICEPS AND A BIT OF SIDE DELT
These Delts been getting pounded across the week & I feel that sort of frequency and volume is what’s needed as they are responding very very well … off course across the week there is 4 sets of over head pressing too plus other presses which aren’t direct but still involve anterior delts to a degree.
Session today was a success , a rep up on the Atlantis press & 2 reps up on the prime shoulder press..I’d actually matched the reps in the last 2 rotations so today was a last chance of the 3 strike rule before I potentially swap it but I was up by 2 reps so was very very made up to be back in the game. Had to get someone to film me so that I was under pressure & it worked as I performed. Still pressing from a deep stretched position and this has become a non negotiable for me just based on the progress I’ve seen since re adjusting all my pressing ROMS. So shower and early bed tonight to prepare for legs tomorrow.
I tried having a bath last night and it was a nightmare , as I couldn’t fit in very well so it was the most uncomfortable bath ever . Lesson learnt ?tb-jp.com/collections/clothing - The most anabolic clothing ever! |

There is no right or wrong here . However the tempo you use will have different effects on the muscle . So it’s a game of choosing where you want to sorbs most time depending on the adaptation you are after.
You have the eccentric portion , then at the bottom (if it’s a pushing movement) lengthened , concentric (going up ) and the shortened .
So it’s where you want to spend time . A simple place to start without complicating things is to spend time on the eccentric phase (lowering) look at 2-3 secs .

REST DAY
Very productive day . Work first thing followed by meeting with my boss (one of my best mates) & I then had to sit in a few interviews with him to help interviewing potential personal trainers to work from our facility.
Back home , cooking, eating then a food shop whilst getting my steps in .

So you could go around this 2 ways , either devolume, whereby you slash your volume by 50% for a full rotation.
OR
Completely take a rest of up to 5 days .
