Simply put, Most people don’t do them because of lack of mobility and lack of stability . They are great for quad development.

    DAY 2 (PULL)
I enjoy this starting phase of training a it always gives you an opportunity to reflect , an opportunity to reset your log,an opportunity to iron out behaviours that aren’t optimal to the goal.

Mostly it’s a chance also to look at your weak body parts & pick movements to improve them. Don’t pick movements that don’t serve you.IMO the following principles are worth considering when choosing movements
✳️Alignment/accuracy ; the ability to drive the load towards the target muscle.notice my arm path on the video.
✳️Bracing : how well you can push into something unmoving in the opposite direction. As demonstrated above My left hand is pushing against the pad, rib cage against the pad and feet against the ground.
    ✳️Resistance profile

    Once that’s done then :
•challenge the muscle (make sure the target muscle or the joint nearest moves first to initiate the movements)
•master the skill (this takes time,be patient)
    •increase neural recruitment (add load)
    •accumulate volume/work
The Problem is everyone is in a rush to increase/add load before they earn the right to do that. Progressive overload is very important if not king, we talk about prioritising force, obsessing over it, progressing it & tracking it. But you have to earn your stripes first Until you master the footman race you don’t get into the horse race, we have people who want promotion without process. You are asking for more & you haven’t mastered less.

It was once said , we date efficiency yet marry inefficiency. I’ll let you stew on that one 🙂
My diet is currently 64/10/12 on TD days

One week post comp, first push session in the big after 10 days off training.

Priority remains recovery, drop fatigue & focus on getting health markers back into optimal ranges.

No plans made yet going forward, main priority is to get this machine firing on all cylinders. No announcements, no threats ????, cause when you do it with purpose there’s just isn’t any need. For us there’s no end game, just a continuous journey of applying self, improving self, improving skill & continuous character development.

Great post show write up. One of the main factors that I respect you for is your mindset – constantly analysing, scrutinising, forming a plan and then executing it. Rather than focusing on the short term progress, you really do have to look bac over you career as a whole and give yourself the credit.
A fantastic first year for bodybuilding in the books and have more than proved you belong up there. Now, it’s just taking the time to make the necessary improvements. You’ve done yourself and everyone proud – enjoy the downtime Oscar. Looking forward to following the next phase when you’re ready.

    BODYBUILDING DEBUT
Sunday brought to an end my bodybuilding debut season at the British finals in hull where I finished 4th in one of, if not the strongest lineups of the day.

Its not the result we were working for & I was very disappointed on the day, I will not lie. But a few nights catching up on my sleep, eating some good food, my coach

some close friends offering insight & some home truths; as time passes, emotions settle, the dust settles & perspective does become clearer. I realise things aren’t as bad as I’m making them to be. And ultimately i realise you can’t go forward with feelings on my sleeves. I simply won’t be able to move forward effectively if i can’t control my emotions.

You also have to give gratitude, as without appreciation we tend to depreciate. I’d like to thank the man upstairs for the gift of life and good health, thank Jordan & Corrine for their unwavering support in all sorts of different ways, their continuous belief in me & the unconditional friendship they offer me. All the wonderful souls at my home FrontlineFit PerformanceCentre I love you all dearly, thank you. All the team at @trainedbyjp for the support and the daily inspo they offer me. The messages, continuous support from all of you on here, means a lot, I’m still a bit timid, & all those messages of encouragement have made me slightly confident,& full of belief so thank you.
I also have to be thankful of the season I have had, it’s been a successful one. I don’t know many who in their first season in bodybuilding have a class win, & an overall win & still on the podium for the British final. So on reflection yes I will bloody take that, 2019 has been awesome.i have to remind myself I am still a young pup in this bodybuilding class and the possibilities are not only endless but I still have a full toolbox at my disposal.

Sunday is now in the past & I cant let it define me because anytime you use your past as if it were your whole life you are not getting a good measurement of who you are!! It’s like jumping on a scale and putting only one foot on; You have to put both feet on the scale, yesterday and tomorrow; history and destiny have to be both put on the scale for you to understand who you are. And I know who I am , I’m relentless!

We know what needs to be done and we will do it, I’m not one to make threats on the internet about what I’ll do next season. My actions have always been in line with my goals & they’ve always spoken louder. I only have to pray for the gift of life and good health, and so long as I’m blessed with those I will keep bringing something brand new to the table, something special every year like I have been since I started competing in physique class 7 years ago.

The future is bright…….for all of us. ❤️

    Hello team
    1 day out
I have spent my day eating and trying to fill up , but it seems we are not full yet so orders are to run the same protocol again tomorrow.
It’s the same peak we run for the qualifier, 7 meals of 100g carbs & 40g protein.
Water was at 5L today, sodium slightly reduced , by half of what I’ve been having. Tomorrow we ran 3L of water

9-10 times, It’s not volume that’s the problem …you can look at execution, exercise selection & intensity first?

In regards to your winged scapula, I’d maybe stay clear of all barbell chest movements and use machines.
This is solely due to stability, which you are lacking. And without stability you can’t create max output.
A machine on the other hand is fixed and we don’t have to worry about internal stability as much because the path is set. So you can set yourself prior to the set, lock yourself in & milk the movement for what it’s got.

    Hello guys
    5 days out
    Weight at 88kg
Last posing session with Rosie earlier this afternoon to polish everything and make sure presentation is stellar.
Other than that Jordan is happy, with cardio dropped, steps reduced, the body is slowly coming to life with fatigue dropping and focusing on recovery.

Hey buddy,it depends on so many variables. The most important one being your goal. You should also on all movements focus on the muscle as opposed to the movement . It’s a better way to analyse if a movement is serving you right. At the moment it sounds like high bar is serving you well. So I’d carry on with that one. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broken

Looks like a good starting point to me, however I’m with rich on most of the top sets bieng between 6-9 reps just to hit the muscle from a neural perspective.
Then back of sets can stay at 10 plus.

Thanks for the response? So drop the top set to under 10 reps for both rotations?[/quote]
I’d say so for the first set of all your top movements…
