if the current split is working really well then I see no need to change it TBH.
However if I was restated to these days I would consider the following 3 options.
1 – Full Body – Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday
2 – PPL rest Upper
3 – Push/Legs/Pull Rest Lower
Depending were your focus is in terms of body parts needing attention if at all
Hi Hilly, number 2 is what I’m doing now to be honest.
However I switch it slightly as I don’t like Legs after Pull since I hinge on Pull day and squat on Lower day.
Instead I do Upper, Lower, rest, Push, Pull.

Hi James, yeah it’s mainly just a kick about with the lads tbf. Looking good is important to me as well — I’m not considering ever competing, but I do want to put on a serious amount of muscle.
And yeah, Fridays I physically just don’t have time to train unfortunately. Otherwise it probably would’ve looked like:
Sun – Upper 1
Mon – Legs
Tues – Rest
Weds – Upper 2
Thurs – Rest
Fri – Upper 3I’m assuming that’s more what you had in mind?
Do you think there’s much difference between what I’m currently doing and moving to frequency x3 per week with lower volume? Would it actually be significant considering my schedule?

You’re about to become a first time dad. That should be all the motivation you need to make sure adherence and consistency is high.
You either truly want it or you don’t and the thought in your mind should be on leading by example for your child that will soon be here. It is for me with my little girl.
Huge congratulations by the way, no better feeling in the world than becoming a father and focusing on being the best / healthiest version of yourself is definitely the way to go
Hey Hilly. Thank you for that, you’re absolutely right.

Agree here with the others & that you answered it yourself at the start.. however, have you thought about getting a coach to help keep you accountable..
Hello, thank you. And yes, however with the little one coming and securing a house recently, not a cost I can incur right now. But definitely in the books once everything is settled.

I would love a coach honestly. But at the moment, financially it will be a struggle. I’m currently in the final stages of getting my own home, but maybe in a few months when all the work and stuff is done I will look at my finances and see what I can do.

I’ve attached a short of one of my top sets (it’s private video only those who I share the link can see) any immediate advice from the get go?
I’ll give the video a watch, I deffo think my form could do with some work.

It’s this stuff I continue to get confused with. I honestly think most over analyse on purpose
I don’t believe for a second people don’t know the following
Leg press / hacks / squats / extensions / curls
Pull downs / barbell rows / dumbbell row / underhand pull downs – cable rows
Bench press / DB press / machine press
Db shoulder press / machine press / later raise
Bicep curl – Ez / DB / cable
Tricep Push down / dips / machine
The only thing you need to work out is what feels best and doesn’t hurt. That’s it
Then you go train you’re arse off and adjust volume a touch but better off working hard n doing a little to much than not enough. You best believe loads still got jacked from doing to much work n loads stay small from not doing enough.
Thats it. Split the body parts how you enjoy
Train how you enjoy
Train hard n keep training harder.
Simples surely
Thank you man. I don’t do it on purpose, sometimes I’m just a dumb fuck that overthinks everything (as JP said, mental health😂) but fuck that shit, I’m not gonna fall into that category, or if I have, I’m getting out of it. I’ve spent the last hour writing my split of exercises I love doing, I’m sticking to it, no more bullshitting. Thank you.

I’ve nothing to add here that the lads above haven’t said, BUT as you have directed us to view your training on your IG, my question to you is this:
Are you doing this for you or for social media?
Your recent Upper post tells your viewers to not do exactly what you’re doing here.
I’m not being a dick, I’m just trying to make you see clearer. So, my advice to you is spend a month in the gym without filming a single set (unless you’re coached and they ask for them, but without posting them) and see if the desire to train hard and progress lifts is there.
You’re absolutely right. You’re not being a dick and I need to be told exactly how it is sometimes. I post for myself really, I feel like I know “what to do” but then I’m easily manipulated and convinced otherwise which is stupid, as JP said maybe a bit of mental health, but fuck that, I’m gonna sort myself out. As you said, I said it on my post, but here a couple of weeks I began to overthink for god knows what stupid reason. I needed to join this forum to be told how it is. Thank you brother, followed on insta.
