Great pull session at the Physique warehouse today. Warm ups were a little meh but resolved this problem with intensity and did a 300-380 ladder with every bar moving the same speed.
Followed this up with a few farmers pick ups working on speed of setting my grip.
Into the taper now. Let’s go.

Rest day.
Knees a little beat up today after yesterday’s events. Got a family history of shit knees so kind of expected. Always seem to manage them with the joint stack from TBJP – it really seems to settle them down quickly.
I’m speaking at a conference on Saturday so got my food prepped for the next couple of days.

Events at the Farm to day with buddy and fellow BSM competitor Ben Glasscock. Final proper heavy events for me as we now taper off most of the volume this week. Got the full sandbag steeplechase done which is very tough. Somethings to clean up on the pick ups and up the run back speed and we should be good for the target time. Took a full 10min to recovery from it so definitely worth doing it to have that feeling before comp day.
Farmers and duck walk felt easy and fast. Probably gave them a bit too much respect so a faster set and pick up is needed which can be drilling over the final few sessions.
Stones felt very light which is a good marker of brute strength for me. No missed lifts, worked up to a couple of reps with the 200 and then a very solid 100-180kg run.

Rest day.
Body is feeling really good. Had physio this morning treating the usual stuff then sports massage in the afternoon working on quads and hamstrings.
Events session at the barn tomorrow

Push session in the barn today:
Log Press – 153×4
Incline Log Press – 173×3
Banded Pin lockouts – 100×4
DB Lateral Raise – 50 reps
Cable Extensions- 50 repsSolid enough session. A couple of slight technical tweaks needed on the log press to improve the bar path above head but it’s an easy fix. Strength felt really good even with the questionable line. This is why it’s important to get statically strong – even when you’re off line you can still grind through the rep.

I think this looks ok in theory. I have deadlifted on back day before and had no issues on lower day after a rest day (even done it back to back without issues)
Run it a few weeks and you will know how your body likes it or not.

Body was struggling this morning so I took another rest day.
I had a rest day planned for when I needed it so now seems like the perfect time.
Should be fully good to go for press tomorrow

Then if my mixing the cor with Greek yoghurt I’m going lemon meringue which is excellent

Rest day. Body felt proper battered this morning.
Much improved as the day went on with plenty of walking and my daily bike session.

Todays session at The Physique Warehouse:
Deadlift – 400×2 220×5 (ladder set ups)
Leg Press – 50 reps
SA DB Row – 82.5×12
Farmers holds – 3 setsSuper solid pulls today with 400, had a 3rd rep there which is a good place to be in. Everything else felt pretty standard. Strength is where it needs to be right now.

Rest day today.
Back feels good, knees feel sore haha. All in all feeling good for my deadlift session tomorrow

Events session at a very cold farm today. Plenty of warming up before I got into it with the sandbag medley. Used some new gloves which are really the one – proper sticky. Went at a good pace today but didn’t overdo it as I ensure that my calf is 100% healed. Felt good so I can put the hammer down next week.
Sandbag steeplechase – 100/127/127
Duck walk into farmers – 150/145 x3
Stones – singles up to 200 then a run 100-180 -
Rest day.
Physio session this morning – calf and Achilles both looking good.
Massage in the afternoon working on quads and hamstrings.
Feeling ready for some events tomorrow
