Push session. Felt really good today – everything feeling straightforward and moving well. Spent ages getting my shoulders mobilised so that I could get in a decent overhead position. Getting older sucks – I miss being able to just bowl into the gym and start lifting. Managed to up the band tension on the lockouts – brutal movement but I find it very beneficial for my overhead.
Log press 163×1 143×5
Incline Log Press 163×6
Seated Swiss bar lockout (w bands) 100×3
DB Lateral Raise 50 reps
Tempo push ups 50 reps
Alt arm cable Ext 50 reps -

Rest day. Not much done today, plenty of rest and recovery done. Feeling good and ready for a decent press session tomorrow

I just do mine in the pan now.
Rinse the rice then cover with water and it’s done in like 8-10mins on the stove. Need to give it a stir for the final couple of minutes.

Solid session today. Deadlifts felt great and no issues with the calf on any movements. Ready to progress to push press on the log on Monday then full events on Wednesday.
Deadlift 360×1 then 270-350 ladder
Paused Leg Press 50 reps
SA DB Row 90×10
SL Calf Raise 3×20 -
Rest day. Body felt proper fucked this morning. Got up and got my body moving with a walk then some mobility work. This is how I start every day now to help me recover and not feel like I’ve been run over by a bus twice. It was successful as I only feel like I’ve been run over by a bus once now.
Finishing the day feeling much better than I started it. Pulls tomorrow with some deadlift ladder action.

Lidl fat free Greek yogurt is decent especially if you’re going to be eating a lot of it.

151.6kg morning weight
Static events session at the farm to allow the calf to fully heal. Everything felt good and moved as it should at this point. Feeling super focused right now and proper fixated on Brits.
Farmers pick ups and holds 155x3x20sec
Sandbag pick ups 125x3x6
Stones 120/140/160/180 then a run 120-180 -
Rest day today.
Body feeling good. Calf improving. Ready for some static events at the farm tomorrow.

Physio appointment this morning – minor calf tear, nothing to worry about. Couple of modified sessions and we’ll be back on track. Presses the log out the rack today and I’ll do some static events on Thursday. Today’s press session:
Strict Log Press – 163×1 133×6
Incline Log Press – 153×6 133×9
Seated Swiss back lockouts w/bands – 100×3
Tempo push Ups – 50 reps
SA Cable Extensions – 50 reps -
149.9kg this morning.
Rest day. Right calf is super tight today – think I tore it a little yesterday. Nothing major, seeing my physio tomorrow anyway so we’ll take a proper look at it then.

Session at the TBJPxShed today. Awesome gym and the first time I’ve trained in there. I attended the open day earlier in the year but had to get down there for a session before the end of 2024. Pulled some decent numbers today working up to 400 for a semi decent pull. Kind of paused it above the knee which was weird.
Deadlift 380×1 400×1 260×5 (ladder style straps)
Hack squat 260×6
SA DB Row 90×8
SL Calf Raise 3×20 -
Great advice rehab wise from JP.
I would add don’t forget about training your non injured side. SA pressing movements with low volume. This will help maintain muscle mass in the non injured side, may help reduce atrophy of the injured side via a cross over effect and finally it will give you some strength data on SA movements for when you are ready to load the pec again allowing you to be sure you have returned it to full strength.
