    Hi mate,

As they gang have said, the best way to understand if this will work well for you is to try it, but as a general rule, there aren’t many that can train properly hard and manage well on four on the bounce , it’s a huge recovery demand.

Legs this evening , knees doing their thing and letting me work hard.

VERY warm, but really enjoyed the session, starting to be able to be a bit aggressive with the movements which I’ve missed

Sorted food and Supp prep, now on with last meal and then sleep

    Hi Hunter,

    I agree with Kam here.

You can make most things fit by manipulating other variables (eg if frequency is higher, volume drops) but I would probably lean towards two on, one off, repeat here.

Upper/lower is a pretty demanding split, three on the bounce would be tough to recover from for most people that train very hard.

That’s not to say it can’t be done, but as Kam says, more info needed to pass informed comment.

    Hi mate

It’s not a daft question, although the framing of “not feeling like lifting heavy” probably isn’t the way we’d encourage you to look at it

A log book helps keep you on task regardless of what you feel like doing – control variables as much as possible to allow you to perform session after session

Working across two rep ranges will most often help you keep progressing more readily that working with a single load.

As Kam says, 20% is a pretty good ball park to help separate the sets out, but once you’ve found your working load for the loaded and the back off set, you then microload from there

I personally like to keep a minimum of 4 reps separating the sets, so for example, if my loaded set was topping out at 8 reps, I’d want my back off set to be a minimum of 12 reps, but this is quite individual, and you’ll find your way.

Absolutely with Clare here mate, the videos are a brilliant resource to help you understand the philosophy behind the session structure.

Once you’ve watched them, have a go at building some sessions with the kit you have available, and then feel really comfortable to share with us for critique.

Really good push session to follow up yesterdays leg day success

Really enjoying all of my sessions at the moment, and feeling like I’m moving everything forwards session by session

One meal left tonight then a good sleep ahead of a rest day tomorrow

Few hot days coming by the looks, so hoping sleep stays good

    Hi Jack,

If you’re not used to failure training, it would probably be a good idea to spend some time in an upper/lower split to get accustomed to the style, understand how it impacts recovery, and how to take sets to failure.

    Split squat
    Leg press
    Bent leg hyper
    Standing calf

Couple of feeds left this evening, then an early night – push session to look forward to tomorrow

    Hi mate

Personally I think prioritising the lagging body parts with session set ups, and with proximity to rest days is the way to go, ensuring you’re in a daily calorie surplus.

Rest day today, I’ve just sat down, and I’m falling asleep.

One more meal left this evening and then it’s bedtime

I’ve got legs again tomorrow and I’m looking forward to ramping things up
