High intensity always. Just manage your volume based on your recovery capabilities ????

My trip to Cairo has come to an end. It’s been amazing and very much enjoyed judging – there was some amazing talent!

Deffo excited to get back to normal life for training and especially eating. I’m actually wondering what my weight is. I imagine I’ll have lost some weight annoyingly but we get back to it!

It could be a good idea to activate with some light lateral raises but I wouldn’t go to failure and take from my heavy presses. I usually look to hit 6 sets of different raise variation 🙂

Had a good session earlier theres a sick gym next door to the complex which had decent kit! So hit a good push session and got lots of content. Going to hit back tomorrow morning before going off to judge the show here in Egypt. There’s 2000 competitor so it’s going to mad! ????

Also don’t look at it as a Lower back loading movement – it’s a posterior chain movement, so every muscle on the rear side of your body is under tension here – hams glutes lower and upper back etc – your work them all through different ranges

Same same but different. Obviously your not fixed to a bar so there’s somewhat less stability with the DB variation but both are great exercises. I personally prefer a barbel variation purely because you can load it more. Not many gyms have 100+ kg DBS

Day 1 complete – onto day 2 – currently sat in my room doing some client worm before we head out for the day. Off to the pyramids today which should be fun. It’s just a lot of travelling and driving around in banged out taxis ???? The traffic here is just ridicous lol 5 lane motorways with no road markings and people over and undertaking anywhere they please, I feared for my life! Lol

Anyway I’ll train later. Look forward to that – also brought my gear with me so I don’t miss a shot and all of my health supps. Basically I’m in control of what I can be. Food is out of my hands but the buffet is good food tbf so hopefully I won’t lose weight while here ????

It should depend on what your weaknesses are – prioritise then but also don’t ignore your strong parts too. You could have one sessions width focussed and one session thickness focussed but both will have cross over too.

Yo guys so travelling to egypt has hit me for 6. I had a night flight ✈️ and barely slept in the plane because the turbulence was quite bad. Then by the time I’d landed and got to the hotel it was 6.30 so I thought to eat breakfast then sleep. Slept till 1 then had a big lunch then was taken out for some tourist activities etc and more food. Lots of sitting in cars. It’s 8pm and I wanted to train but I’m absolutely shot so going to chill. Will head down for more food around 9.30 then come back and try to sleep a good amount 🙂

Just shows falling off routine is massive for you! I know this was unavoidable but still – the better you can be accountable to your daily requirements the faster you will step towards achieving your goals.

Adductor swap – lying dB ham curl – yes it hits hams but also smashed the adductors cus you have to squeeze the dB together hard! Go heavy so you Uber I squeeze more to focus on adductors

Sometimes life gets in the way of training – eg today I’m off to Egypt later but working till 12 so won’t have time to train as I’ll be packing etc

Basically what I’m trying to say is if and when that happens and life gets in the way, don’t stress, it’s life and shit happens. Just deal with the task at hand and get back to it next day 🙂

If you dont have that much kit then maybe you can use both the smith and the back squat variations. Also on the smith you can do a lying leg press – just get someone to spot that can twist the bar when you start and finish the set.
