Doesn’t sound like a bad idea if you can only press and not do any other fly/chest variation etc

However I would go and see chiro/osteo ASAP. Get some needling, Graston, soft tissue work done to help reduce inflammation

Also double dose of cure-coming and join in for a bit, hopefully that will help keep it ‘at bay’ so you can at least train through in (I’m not gunna tell you to rest cus I’m a BB too, you won’t like it lol)

Could be down to so many variables but that’s a massive drop in weight from a % perspective. I’d drop it and got db press or seated military or seated smith get strong at one of them, then when that movement goes stale you can swap back

Push day today. Good session at MJs. The dbs are different at mjs compared to my other gym which I trained at over Christmas due to mjs opening hours. Anyway I’ve been pressing the 60s for shoulder press around 8 reps (new movement) and feeling good switching from the Gym shop plate loaded shoulder press – the strength is awesome I’m just getting used to DBS again. Anyway at mjs it goes 55kg, 59kg then 68kg haha and the 59s are really thin handles so I did them and they were so wobbly and unstable compared to thick handle 60s. Just goes to show the type of dumbbell you use does make a diff. I’m just gunna try the 68s next week and see what happens 🙂 actually looking forward to it as everything feels great right now

Has to take an unplanned day off today. I’m launching a 10 week training programme tomorrow and I still wanted to do more stuff to make it as good as I could so I’ve spent the whole day on the programme and touching it up. Sometimes shit happens, and sometimes I don’t mind because this is my business and I know it’s something that will help me grow in different ways 🙂

Sometimes we have to make sacrifices.

I haven’t experienced that. Maybe try some single ply sleeves purely for stability

Joe are you using HGH? I saw you started your insulin and the Deca and test cycle but didn’t see anything about Gh

Hey buddy yeah I’m on 4iu a day atm. 2 pre and 2 post. Or split dose on rest day. Let me check my list, it should be on there 🙂

We’re all the controllable variables the exact same as when your PB’d the week before?
    Sleep
    Hydration
Same amount of meals pre workout
    Stress
    Readiness to train
    Etc
Having even one of these being out could effect your session, especially when lifting at peak strength

Could of been sleep got a 3 year old and she likes to wake us up in the middle of the night.or readinesss to train I felt I had to drag myself to the gym.
Just going to make sure next leg day will be my b***h[/quote]
Question answered. Again we can’t always be our best, but so long as we know why then it’s ok because we can try and improve these variables In the future

Although not a lot you can do about the little one ????

Soooo little diet amendment – we’ve put in a five guys burger and large fries as my post post leg day meal to help bump up the cals some more. Had it last night following my legs session and it was fantastic haha I love five guys so pretty buzzing about that. Even though food is high and meals are hard. I’ll get that one down. Finishing the chips was hard though especially following my normal post meal…

Legs today – was ok but didn’t feel my usual self. My knee was playing up (torn quadriceps tendon). Loaded the smith smith and was a rep or two short of previous numbers. Not sure to strength but pain. Anyway on leg press I decided rather than going to usual numbers and not hitting them and annoying myself and feeling like it was a failed session I went lighter (400kg) and did 30 reps to failure. That fucked me up and was a very productive set.

I think fully loading my quad tendon today with ‘’new weights” or trying to beat reps would have ended up in further injury. I start prep in 12 weeks and I cannot afford injury or time off. So I made conscious decision to train smart but still fucking hard. And I’m happy with the session. I also believe a true 30 rep to failure set would be hell for anyone.

Honestly mate I’m the same. I get zero recruitment with. I was very strong with the movement but never managed to get up from a set and actually feel my pecs full of blood. Never. Now I do only movement that I FEEL and get strong at doing them.

Yesterday I went to the nuffield private clinic and pretty much had the all clear for my back – super happy with this outcome. The consultant said I will have back pain for the rest of my life but I am at no more rush of further injury than anyone else. I’ll probably still avoid RDLs and anything excessively lower back loading for now at least and look to rebuild myself back up.

All in all I’m buzzing and now even more fuel to the fire to get up and smash this year and compete for my pro card

Seek professional help as there’s clearly an issue. I put up with knee pain for over a year, in the end I got an MRI, turned out I have a torn quadriceps tendon. Just pay the money and get it checked out and diagnosed asap
