Why do I check my blood glucose reading post workout?
I first got introduced to this method from James Hollingshead who I believe was introduced to it from a past coach. At first it seemed a little wierd and over the top but the science behind it made sense do I decided to give it a go. After using it for a few weeks I was starting to find it really interesting. How the readings differed depending on what body parts I was training or what kind of workout I had. When using Intra workout carbs I like to get them carbs used up during the workout. That’s what they’re there for that’s why I’m supplementing them. So after I’ve finished training I do want my blood sugar to be at a lower rate which tells me all of them carbohydrates have been utilised during the workout. I wouldn’t want to just be piling more carbs ontop of them in my post workout meal if they haven’t been digested. So the goal is to always be in range (less than 4.5 for me) before having my post workout meal which consists of whey isolate and cereal. This has allowed me to utilise these carbohydrates better and I do think it helps maintain a better level of body fat during the offseason as your keeping your body insulin sensitive. James has just done an informational video on this topic on the site so check it out guys and let me know your thoughts._________________________________________

Hey guys, had a great PULL session with James today. Kings was like an oven so it was tough but we had a great session. I used 25g Intra workout carbs and my blood glucose reading post workout was 3.7 which ensures me my insoulin sensitivity is still great even after the food poisoning. Had my post workout meal then popped off to work. Going to head home and eat a solid meal now and then try and rest for tomorrow’s leg workout. Going to do a post below on why I’m a fan of using blood glucose as a tool. Check it out and hit me up with any questions.

Hey mate, I’ve never been able to eat huge amounts of junk food on any drug and not accumulate bodyfat! So it’s probably people that genetically don’t gain body fat very easily. You’ll have to monitor yourself really but I wouldn’t suggest eating loads of junk when using any drugs because they can all have a bad impact on cholesterol, blood pressure etc.

Good morning everyone, just out doing some fasted cardio. Stomach seems to be a bit better today and not feeling as weak. Going to try and get a full days nutrition in and get a good session. Pull Day is going down at kings gym. What compound exercises do you guys do for back? It is the offseason now we are trying to grow.

Hey buddy, I personally would keep the nutrition around training the same for now. Slightly pull calories from other meals and increase activity at the same time. Do this gradually and it will have a better effect on your body. Keep us posted on your progress.

I wouldn’t myself. Just use them with your carbohydrate dense meals.

Have to agree with Clare on this! Your body wouldn’t need a week off a deficit it’s more of a mental thing, nobody during a contest prep would take a week off the diet! If your just dieting to get in shape I’d suggest maybe having a meal or two off to settle any cravings then get straight back into it.

Hey buddy,
Boiled Whole Eggs/Whites
Smoked Salmon & Eggs
Eggs & Avocado
Egg White & Peanut Butter Blended Shake
These are a few can be pre prepared or prepared very quickly. I would say beef and eggs but I only like beef made fresh so wouldn’t want to eat it cold!

Good morning guys! After waking up another half a kilo down I’m going to try and put a little more food in today. Managed to get 2 small meals in yesterday even though my body didn’t really like it. Feel a little better in myself just hope I can process some food. I might pop to the gym for a light workout and see what happens. Are you guys training today? If so what and where?!
