Hey All
Rest day today.
Busy day working, food prepping, walking the dog and I headed to meet a friend for a coffee this afternoon. An old diving friend we don’t get to meet up a lot so it was nice to catch up.
Ready for pulls tomorrow….hopefully we near closer to the 4pps again … will give it my all

MemberOctober 2, 2023 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Hiring a coach for accountability but not contest prepHi Max. If you’re serious about wanting to lose some bodyfat, then having a coach to guide you is a very good idea. You still need to put the work in and be accountable for prepping your meals and eating to the plan, but a coach can take a lot of the guess work and stress away from you.
You certainly don’t need to be a competitor to benefit from having a coach, so have a look around and see who you feel you gel well with. Just make sure you are honest with yourself and with them at all times, otherwise it will be a waste of money.
I agree with Clare here in this instance.
It seems as though the food adherence isn’t a huge issue but just sticking with one plan and not swapping and changing.
You can get a coach to aid you feel confident in that at the end of the plan that you’ll achieve what you want to and have a plan for after too. But you can do this for you too especially to begin with set a plan our stick with it, if you don’t see some body weight mobe in a week see if adherence has been hit if it has you’ll need to drop cals a little or increasing expenditure a tad xx

Hey Guys
Hope you’re well.
Pull today was a great session did some weights on the rows that I’ve not done before and was super happy with how they moved – exciting exciting stuff.
7 weeks to the prep start happens and things are in a good place mentally and physically (I think) I’m not sure if anyone is ever going to feel 100% physically ready but progress has been made and im excited to display it to the best of my ability

Yes I’m with Jordan here there’s no place or need from them in a diet phase.
Off-season phase I think there’s a time they can be added at the end of isolations or a slight help at the end of a compound but just train to failure and get stronger with it

Hey All
Hope you’ve had a great weekend
A good weekend with my clients this weekend a couple of ladies one who won – the other who came 5th out of a monsterous PCA class – her start point to here is incredible really proud of both of them.
Push today was good.
Some nice little steps forwards with some lifts and movements – really enjoying the DB press!Pull tomorrow excited for it xxx

I agree with the guys above – you can make cream of rice pretty low vol too if it ever feels a chore to go through using kettle boiled water rather than in the microwave

I used to have a shit back – a hip hinge is a huge component to have in any progress especially if posterior development is what you’re looking for.
Do you know the difference between upper back and lat training? What movements do you do for these?
As well as you hip hinges you do need a good amount of volume from rows and pull downs (both lat and upper back focused – to help develop your back well – do them well, get strong with time

Hey All
Rest day today – body needed it after a heavy session yesterday 😂
Today was client work, admin work, seeing a couple clients for check ins who are in comp prep and I led a call for our excellence program all on how to set up your online coaching business.
From the things I’ve learned along the way and from others to help people set up with as many little speed bumps

I think we all over think to some degree – it’s part of always wanting to improve – a mindset that’s common across most bodybuilders.
For me I try to keep my mind busy when I’m not doing “bodybuilding” things.
– work
– personal development for career
– socialising with family / friends
– spending time with the dogs.If we forever listened to our thoughts we’d be training a different way every week, doing more steps than we need etc.
it’s about learning how to switch the brain off when it’s needing toMeg Sylvester IFBBPRO

Hey All
Hope you’ve all had a good day.
Leg day today – felt nice and powerful in there today.
Some nice progress with weight or reps on all lifts which is great.
The SLDL we do at the end of the session is BRUTAL hahah. But determined to really get the weight moving on it even though it’s at the back end of the session was happy with today 155
Legs are ready for a rest day tomorrow haha SORE

So I’m in agreement with Peter here.
2 variations is enough for anyone.
I also don’t like to see more than 4-5 days per week with this set up
Sets and reps will be based on what Peter mentioned plus your own individual recovery ability.
You can start with 6-8 exercises and 2 sets of each – and focus on getting good and strong with that

I agree with Jordan adding some small biscuit plates could help.
Have you pushed up too quick and had form too sloppy as that can see things stand still quickly.
So you could also pull back a little
Or you could work in some higher rep ranges for the next 4-6 weeks before pulling back to usual rep range as that should help things push along

Hey Guys
Last week with the delaod week running more rest days bodyweight obviously held a bit – looked a little tighter from inflammation dropping, since being back to it body weight has creeped up a little and sitting quite heavy for me but body comp is actually pretty great which is nice for now
Session today was great – nice pumps – nice load moved on exercises looking forward to seeing this continuing to progress over the next few weeks!
This re set was needed even if mentally I didn’t want to do it
