Hey Meg, hope you’re well. I wasn’t sure where to put this question. I spoke to you a while back – I think sometime last year – when you replied to one of my questions on the diet forum. YOu said you use the “No meat company” with your vegetarian clients. I’ve been eating foods from them for a while now and they basically make up the majority of my diet. I’m currently getting some advice from Kuba regarding EAAs and MPS max. Are there any other diet protocols you have your vegetarian clients follow that you wouldn’t mind sharing? Apart from taking vitamins too. The goal at the moment being a gaining phase.
Hey! I’m glad the advice regarding the protein sources was helpful – have a good quality meat source is important obviously the purest and leanest will be actual meat but the meat free company is fantastic for those who don’t eat meat.
Other than the fact you do not eat meat, unless you have any other health implications bodybuilding is pretty simple and you’ll be able to approach like all – good whole foods for your carbs / vegetables / fat sources – with some consistency and solid training.
Obviously if you were a vegan there are other pathways we have to go down – but being a vegetarian is a little less limiting
Thanks for the reply 🙂 yeah I’m vegetarian not vegan, dairy is quite a staple for me. I’ll just keep at it!
That’s really great – any time I can be of help please ask any questionsMeg Sylvester IFBBPRO

I agree with the guys above – you had a great physique for a first time natural competitor. I would personally go for getting legs out rather than hiding them in some shorts

A lovely Saturday pull session.
Session was as follows
Cable chest supported pulldown
Upper back machine row
Cable pullover
DY row
Upper back pull down
Rear delt fly
bicep curlA fabulous session. After a productive morning with my client csll. This weeks topic was creating a sustainable routine – it’s what will keep things moving forward and give time for work, Training, eating meals etc more efficiently. The most important point that came from it is that you have to have a willingness to want to have it and uphold it

Between 12-18g depending on the size of you is pretty normal.
Many people don’t track it, I find if I’m not on the ball with my sodium intake + hydration year round I get some terrible cramps –
I personally just do 12g daily which is split evenly of 2g on top of my meals (6) of them, with a sprinkling of that in my pre workout drink + intra

For me I utilise coffee like most other supplements – in a diet phase for a “pick me up” and also for its thermogenic effect – to help me move more which in essence will aid with pushing a little more
However it upsets my digestion a tad
So I don’t really touch it in offsesson. Just sometimes as a pre workout. So it doesn’t affect my digestion
I don’t think a coffee and a pre workout will be effective of sleep. I’d keep that running
The other may cause problems at some point even for a nights sweats perspective which I find for most bud again that’s not for everyone and each persons threshold is very different

Evening All
A rest day today.
Work done and this afternoon was lovely to see my brother and my niece and nephew. They grow up way too quickly!
Tomorrow will be my pull session, this one’s without my added glute work so will be a very good session. Ahead of a solid rest day on Sunday with some bodywork and the back into the gym with the hammie focused leg session on Monday

Cool you’re going to your first diet.
Are you assisted or natural? You tend to be able to push a little harder out the gate with a food drop a lot more with assisted guys and have to be a little more tentitive with naturals when the goal is dropping fat but holding tissue –
Will this be a mock prep style prep? Or just a short mini diet? – is your goal to compete one day
We could get some more data like the ladies ask to be a little more specific
But as Michaela says start with a food drop and some expenditure adjustment and see how things trend over a week period and make adjustments as needed

Hope you all had a good Thursday
A busy one with work and training today.
The gym was positive I took 2 plates on the high incline cybex smith press again and for an additional 2 reps, which is positive. A little less volume today so I will probably do this weight again when I do full vol as obviously I’ll have some extra sets prior to starting my presses
Another rest tomorrow with one last light volume session on Saturday and the we will be back to it on Monday

I agree with Michaela there have definitely been people who have progressed well with utilising a BB press
From a risk point of view for me I think you have better options – I’d rather be able to rinse and build strength than worry I was going to tear something as I’d be tentative and that’s not good either for progress

Wednesday day here and a nice busy day with check ins.
We had a rest day as legs was yesterday + filmed some content for YouTube we’d only been doing training footage and thought a slight change of a rest day day in the life would be great.
Back in the gym with push tomorrow with a little lighter vol. I’ve struggled a little with lower appetite today not sure as to why as I’ve not struggled at all really to this point – so I look forward to it returning tomorrow. Maybe due to a little restless sleep last night – we shall see tomorrow

Which do you like best? For me I love the pendulum and smith and tend to rotate these as my squat patterns in my training. I don’t get on with the hack. Go for one you feel great doing and get strong with it

A great day in the gym – Kuba had some bodybuilding friends visiting from Austria today. Always nice to connect with others of the same mindset.
I hit some higher rep sets instead of my usual low volume – heavy load sets as my joints need it after the last couple months of getting stronger and pushing things. A little re set and ready to push on through
Ready for a nice rest day tomorrow – filming some bits for YouTube

I agree with Michaela I just had them cold when I had them –
If you don’t like them and can’t get it right you’re not limited to one source you can swap if you want to
One hack I also did towards the end of having eggs in the AM and reheating at work – I part cooked them in the pan so they were made but still a little sloppy then I just reheated for 1 min and they were perfect. I think the worst is when you make them in the microwave and then reheat them there too
