    IMO when it comes to a flat barbell press I know many individuals who’ve built a solid chest off that . But they all seem to have a thicker ribcage to start . And I think there’s something to be said about an elevated ribcage or position and the role it plays in pec training.
    Now that being said , the only way to find out is to try it yourself..as that’s what bodybuilding is.
    But personally I prefer machine’s because it means I can set up clients perfectly regardless of ribcage size & ensure the pec is being biased as opposed to front delts and triceps. That’s my humble opinion on that.

    When it comes to OH pressing, if you insist on using a barbell I am a fan of seated dead stop barbell press performed in the rack .

    But then again for efficiency purposes I’d rather use a machine that’s straight forward and eliminates stability demands in turn alerting me more load exposure.

    Rest day today , not much to report but the usual to be fair .

    Could i just do rack pulls?

    The fatigue to stimulus ratio from rack pulls don’t compare to what you get from an SLDL . I am talking maybe put a 20kg plate on the floor, set your barbell on top of that and carry on pulling from that height .

    Hello art , how does it feel ? I’ve watched it and your legs are so long leaving your hips a bit to high for me .
    I’d advise you pull from a block at least to match your limb length, otherwise the heavier this load gets you might run into potential issues .

    Hello team ,

    I have had a good session this afternoon. Quads in the menu today . Everything felt good . I am absolutely fried though. In a good way.

    I have uploaded some sets on IG for those interested . Spoke emphasising the importance of standardising execution … to me it’s the be all and end all . 🙂

    Hey Oscar , I’ve noticed in your recent show pics that you have a umbilical Hernia , am I right?

    Just got one recently and trying to figure out what approach should I take, change my training , try to fix it with ab work, or go for surgery .Thanks

    Hello matey , I don’t know which picture you are referring to , but I don’t have a hernia anywhere, never mind an umbilical hernia ..
    If you have one , the sooner you have surgery the better.. 🙂

    IMO I’ll give you a summary of my opinion from the above starting with kuba’s answer which i totally agree with . Stick to building a bigger overall chest for now and once at a stage wheeze you are fully developed chest and top line , then think about the nuances .

    Your exercise selection already biases that top line anyway so for now , get strong , with standardised form as the boys mention above . If your shoulders allow you to press from a drop position, then do it . Getting strong in that stretch position is one thing really helped me develop my top line ..

    It is completely person dependent but I find after 2 or 3 meals is perfect for me. Best thing to do is try after 2 meals see how you get on if you feel you needed another me try training after 3 meals and so on. Honestly I think most people will probably agree after 2-3 meals feels good but I know a lot of people have commitments which means they need to train first thing or evening times

    Then between 11-12 it is…sounds like that is what suits you . Don’t over think these things. Go with preference & instinct. 🙂

    Lovely day today team , lie in … admin done , laundry done .
    Then went for lovely walk this afternoon & now unwinding. One last meal to go then it’s bedtime .

    It’s more so squats that I want to keep in twice a week, deadlifts Id be happy with once a week on second thought.

    I am not sure whether you’ll manage to recover from lower back loading twice a week in the long v run

    Pull once a week, I’d advise …can you rotate the machines for squats ?
