MemberNovember 14, 2024 at 1:51 pm in reply to: JP prep 2024/25 – NO OFF TOPIC QUESTIONSBuddy this is where you really really need to be honest with yourself , it is entirely , entirely impossible to gain 28 pounds from an 800 cal bump , it’s physiologically , entirely , impossible , as it’s not even enough energy to create that much excess , so this is where all the small extras and off plan meals need to be controlled . I have coached hundreds of people , done many many diets myself and been around people who get in the best condition you will literally ever see ( not very many females trump the condition corinne hit ) , so I KNOW what 800 cals does to literally any body type
I actually think for a lot of us an 800 cal reintro from the absolute baseline weight , may see us gain zero , because of metabolism speeding up enough to just swallow it all
A 200-300 cal bump on a normal tidy diet is perfect , an all out peeled stage ready diet, for most of us will need 1200 ish cals back in i would say

it could literally be anything , it could be more food in your gut , it could be increased sodium from the increased food, maybe some Adema from the leg training .
My point , none of the above matters as you made one caloric adjustment , so now sit on this one and then in a few weeks make another , and just keep going until your up 30 pounds over 6 months , and you have likely gained 10 or so pounds new muscle , then diet back off the 20 excess and repeat

I’m floating around 275 , im in no rush to increase cals and just letting the drugs do their thing.
Small comment on post show rebounds
Ok , so we have alllll blown up post show , i don’t know a single person who hasn’t , however the rates at which you can add contractile tissue do not change much ! Yes your super sensitive to carbs and insulin and sleep increases and you have all the tools there to maximise growth, but the rate at which we can actually add contractile tissue , is limited . It’s like one man building a house , sure you can get a fucking beast who can build fast ! But one man can only build so fast ! So if you Chuck all the tools , all the food , all the drugs , the building can only occur , so fast
So I would say , realistically , your looking at 1-1.5 pounds a month of actual contractile tissue b, if your super freaky , you can do 2 pounds a month of actual contractile tissue.
So if you go up 30/40 pounds in month one , you have still only added 2 pounds of tissue! And when you diet back down , the rest will just be gone again . Pushing yourself up super fast , will cost you around the 8 week mark I will say , that’s when you will then start to turn into a melted candle , and your training will go to shit and you will need to mini cut, and in that 8 weeks you will of gained 3-4 pounds of stage weight , if you trained really damn hard and got straight into progressive overload! A 6 month well executed offseason , can defo see a 12 pound increase in Stage weight , but man you have got to be on the money to get that , and blowing up post show is the fastest way to fuck that all up
That being said , we have all done it , I feel agajn it’s one of those things you have to do and learn from and then diet back down after to go, oh fuck I gained lirerally no muscle because I had to diet so hard to get the 50 pounds of shit weight back off 😂🤷🏼♂️ , or you can listen to me And try super super hard to not do that and actually make some progress

Sadly bodybuilding isn’t perfect , splits can’t be perfect , and trying to make absolutes in bodybuilding sets you up for failure
The split all looks fine just adjust based on recovery and progress , the Important part to understand that anyone who is good at this , doesn’t try to make things absolute

Don’t worry about that , just reply to them and actually give a shit . If you do that , you will build a decent client base . Professionalism doesn’t need to look fancy , I mean it defo can , especially if you like that stuff , but if you want to just do a really good job, just reply fast , over deliver on the help and push people to hit new goals they didn’t realise they could reach .

This time on the first set of the granite , 6th rep , I was about to take the + 1 rep and nail the 7th and I felt the exact same spot as befroe the fibres popped
I did my next set but way more control , prob risky but It was ok
Gym leco tricep I thought 5 a side would hurt it so did 4 and half no issue , then went to do 4 and 15 and that bit it a bit more , so did 4 a side no isssue
It’s not a bad injury , it’s just annoying as shit , so next session pec dec first , lighter sets for defo on the chest press and it may need very light sets on gym leco , I will make smart decisions and rebuild , I can still get failure And stimulus so it’s not an issue , and I think it won’t effect the prime shoulder , just the downside of getting strong strong , something always pops a little

B shoulder and upper chest is all the same thing to me , one doesn’t build without the other when you press on a high incline

High incline dumbell press is the absolute goat, I only stopped as I was doing the 85kg db and it was just annoying as fuck at that point . I would probably still do them if I trained at strength asylum though , they had the best db ever
