Patrick have u spotted the change to the split in terms of rest days ? When the split moves like that , the first thing there is a chance to do is re add a lower back loading exercise. The previous layout didn’t allow for it as wouldn’t of recovered from legs day before and interfered with deads later in the split

The deadlift cycle doesn’t work for me when I’m heavy as I’m not fit enough to hit my numbers at 12-15 reps. So Exercise rotation works better for me

All of those questions are loaded.
Caloric deficit – what causes fat loss. How you achieve this is totally person dependant . Does cardio hinder recover , does high intensity cardio hinder recovery. Does low food impact adherence .
The questions above will make it tailored to you.
So only you can decide which route to take to drop into a caloric deficit.Rate of fat loss – again loaded question. Can you drop more without losing performance in the gym . You tell me? Do it and find out. Then you will learn for next time.

Matt every aspect of high level bodybuilding is a risk. It’s not remotely healthy in anyway from a physical or mental perspective apart from the genetic elite. Everything increases risk factors after years of use / carrying way too much bodyweight around. Is what it is, try to make informed decisions
